    The Nintendo 3DS is a portable game console produced by Nintendo. The handheld features stereoscopic 3D technology that doesn't require glasses. It was released in Japan on February 26, 2011 and in North America on March 27, 2011.

    Above picture taken outside Akihabara Yodobashi Camera at 7:24. Apparently, 260 people were lined up when the picture was taken; lined up for 3DS pre-orders, which officially started in Japan today. Nintendo stating that 1.5 million 3DS systems will be shipped in Japan between February 26th (the launch date) and March 31st combined with the rumors that only 400,000 units will be available there on launch day make me think that there will indeed be shortages akin to what we saw with the Wii.
