So I found out a while ago that the 3DS is region locked. I've imported a couple of games for various region free platforms in the past, and its really awesome to get a game potentially years before a domestic release. I was wondering if anyone knows if the 3DS is completely region locked, or whether it's up to the developers discretion to lock it or keep it unlocked. There's a game I want, but it's only announced for Japan and Europe for now so... Has anyone imported any games on the 3DS?

As far as I know they're all region-locked by default. Guess you'll have to keep hope that the game will be coming to the US as well. Most do eventually, so I think you should be safe. Best to just add the game on facebook should you have that and you'll usually get some sort of update for when it comes.
