Joystiq Reviews Pilotwings
Yeah...I have fond memories of really enjoying Pilotwings 64 back in the day before I grew up and knew better. A little disappointed to hear there is only the original Wuhu Island...but I also never knew that the island in Wii Sport Resorts was the same island...shocking turn of events. Who knew this island had canon.
Desperately grasping at straws to find something to justify picking up my preorder at Nintendo World next week, I take this as just that. Though if they'd have just said "fans of Pilotwings 64 might like a bit kind of maybe" then that would have done the trick too. Just like "Perfect Dark Zero has the same protaganist from Perfect Dark" was reason enough to buy the 360 at launch.
" @Hailinel said:Reading Joystiq's review, the game seems to last longer than "more than a couple." Either way, this seems more like a casual "pop in and play a mission or two" sort of game." @JJOR64 said:A couple hours to finish the game. "" Heard the game was fairly short. This will be one of the games I will get at launch. "Define short. "
I really want to test it out at a demo station. PilotWings Resort apparently has really good use of 3D. The only games I've played at Super Street Fighter IV and one of the AR games.
I'm torn, because this seems like a great pack-in game to accompany the 3DS and show off the 3DS hardware's potential in an accessible way (and an awesome way to show it off to friends) but I don't really want to spend $40 on a few-hour experience. I'll probably rent it shortly after release.
