    are any ds games 2 player that do not involve having to hook up with somebody who also has a ds? so in other words do are there any games that involve switching back and forth between turns on the same ds?

    Advance Wars: Dual Strike and Advance Wars: Days of Ruin are the only games I know of.

    I'm pretty sure Clubhouse games has that function, and Scribblenauts (and every other puzzle game on the system) might as well

    Yeah, you solve a puzzle, then you let your friend solve it differently. With tetris, you play as far as possible then let your friend try to beat your score
