Nintendo was founded in Kyoto, Japan in 1889 as a manufacturer of hanafuda playing cards. The company went through several small niche businesses before becoming a video game company.
If they made a new handheld with graphics that looked good when transferred to a TV, I'd be okay with this. But right now, I do think they still benefit from a big screen experience.
I have vastly preferred their handheld games and hardware for the last few years though. So, I could understand and perhaps even appreciate this.
I think there are still experiences that are better suited to consoles, but I won't deny that their handhelds have far exceeded their consoles for quite some time.
Yes as long as it's a handheld that can project onto a TV. I mean that's the dream right? Play on a big TV sitting on your couch but if you have to leave there's no reason to stop. Yes I know that's what the WiiU is doing but I want the opposite of that, stream to the TV and not from it.
As a person with no interest in the Wii U (outside of a select few titles), I wouldn't mind if they focused all their efforts on something like the 3DS. It may not be as powerful as the VITA, but it's still a sexy lil' machine with a lot of appeal.
