IGN has posted a Persona 4 Arena Ultimax video with the first English footage, showing off some of the game's intro and the English voices.

@fluxwavez: Does Sho's voice sound like Vic Mignogna (Junpei) to you?

@irrelevantjohn: I've seen a couple of people mention that and, having listened to his voice again, I think it does, sure. I don't think it's actually him, though.

@fluxwavez: At first I thought it might be him, but some of the later voice clips sound like a different voice actor. I'm sure he's voicing Junpei though, so it wouldn't surprise too much.

Sho and P.Sho sounds different in the JP version as well. Sho is the character that fools around with terrible puns and P.Sho is the more serious sounding type.

It's probably him just using a different pitch and tone.

Last I heard, we're looking at late September.

So has it been confirmed yet that the rest of the P3 english voice cast is coming back for this game? because I can say Yikari sounds like Yukari but we never got a clean sample of Junpei to see if it's Junpei. Also I would find it funny if Ken's voice hasn't changed since elementary school.

@uppercaseccc: Michelle Ruff confirmed herself that she is reprising Yukari's role, but nothing has been said about Junpei's actor or Ken's. I'd imagine if they were different, Atlus USA would have already said so like they with P4A when Chie and Teddie's did.

@fluxwavez: I would actually be fine if they replaced Ken's VO because if he is supposed to be about 14 his voice change time would be at it's peak

@uppercaseccc: Yeah, maybe his role specifically would need to be recast. I forgot to mention that Fuuka's voice change wasn't actually mentioned before P4A released, so Ken's VA might have very well been changed.

I could have sworn Sho's VO to be Todd Haberkorn. His serious state at least sounded a lot like Prince Ling

Vic Mignogna's still fairly active (even voiced Kou in the P4 anime, apparently), so I'd be surprised if they couldn't get him to reprise his role here. But who knows (the faint little you can hear of Junpei in this video sure sounds like him though).

@uppercaseccc: As much as I'm still tired of Wendee Lee, her Fuuka in P4A is definitely a lot easier to listen to. I kinda wonder if they did the VA switch there solely because P3-Fuuka seemed so universally reviled.

I did like the voice for Death the Kid in Soul Eater, so I think he'll be a decent fit.

Also, unless they do some re-balancing for Yosuke, I get the feeling shadow Yosuke could be pretty overpowered. I always found Yosuke's awakened special move to one of the best, given how fast it makes you and how easily you could juggle characters with the automatic combo. If you have instant access to it in the shadow form, I can imagine a few people will try to spam it.

I feel like I should do a could ear victory lap. That aside, I actually Akihiko has the ability to just take this, especially with his shadow form. Giving him more health, and his new juggle stuff? Aki's got the ability to wreck house.

And as long as Mitsuru and Aigis get taken down a peg, I am on board.

Not really. Keep in note, the game's been out in arcades for months and it's already at version 1.11. Sukukaja works very differently from how it did in P4A (its duration has been extremely shortened, for example), and one would still need 100 SP as a Shadow to activate it. Also, Sukukaja really wasn't one of the objective best Awakening supers in P4A.

You know what, I don't think I've bought a fighting game since MK9 but I might just say fuck it and pick this up. I came super close to buying the last one but skipped out because I'd never played an Arc game before and people always describe them as some sort of variation on "Complex". But goddamnit life's too short to not try this one out!

I would say it was definitely one of the better awakened supers for low-mid tier players like myself, as it would allow for a quick and easy combo that could overwhelm similarly skilled players, but of course the higher end of the spectrum would deal with more advanced techniques. Hearing that it requires 100 SP and has been nerfed makes it sound more balanced.
