I'm rescuing Rise and I'm banging my head against the wall. I just can't beat

I've tried about a dozen times and I can get his health to about 25% but then he just annihilates my party.

I'm using Yukiko, Kanji and Yosuke. Here are the stats.

Has anyone got any tips for defeating him?

Assuming you're playing on normal and always guarding his big 'ol charge up attack? What personas are you using?
 
There's no real trick to beating him if I remember. Only real tips I have are level some more, buy better gear or use defense buffs/attack reductions on him (if you're not already)?

Are you blocking correctly when he charges up? He does give you one turn to make sure you block in that time. if you haven't already, go back to Yukkiko's dungeon and clear the boss there.

If he's getting a second turn using bufu on Yukkiko you need to be guarding with her more, and maybe give your character a persona that absorbs ice attacks. A good tactic with bosses is to stack mind charge/power charge with tarukaja for 2.5x damage.

Oh nevermind, I didn't read it all.
Still might be a good idea to have your main character act as the designated healer, since Yukiko is weak to Teddie's ice attacks. I think Sarisvati or Parvati is strong against ice and can heal?

I thought about Grinding a bit more, but I have 7 saves and they are all the day before the fog! Unless I let the fog come and go back a week.

If I do go back a week I'm only on the 7th floor then and I don't seem to have enough time to grind and get to the 11th floor.

Also, block correctly, play safe and use an iceabsorbing/resistant persona.

@mr187uk: Fuse Ganga with a medium magic spell and train it until it gets Mediarama. Then Teddie will be a breeze

Get a persona that nulls Ice and it's a piece of cake, you might be the only survivor but you progress. Been a while since I've played so I don't remember the two persona's I had that both null ice and absorbed ice so it was easy. It is also a battle that if you know what you are getting into you will survive, it's kinda a fucked part.

If you can get his health down to 25%, I think you aren't blocking when he charges up.

It sounds like you're not blocking when he charges up, otherwise I think maybe you're underleveled for that fight. I'm much too far past that part in my own game to remember what level I was, but as long as you block after he charges up, none of his attacks do enough damage for you not to be able to heal it back up. Just put Yukiko on heal duty and you should be fine.

I'm going to grind for a bit. I'm strong enough to complete the castle top to bottom without using any health potions. So this seems my best bet for a bit.

@Indiana_Jenkins What's BUFU? The only reference I'm aware of for BUFU is about Butts ;-)

I assume it's "Bufu is the family of ice spells,"

@mr187uk: Did it at that exact level. I used Jack Frost (null ice, plus ER FUCK YEAH) so null ice made it easier but I can say it's possible without it, since the first time I tried I got him down to ~20% left w/o that persona (I was dumb and forgot I had him lol). I rolled Kanji/Chie/Yukiko. You and yukiko should be healing anyone that needs healing, Chie/Kanji should be using items for stat effects (if you/Yukiko have them and so they can't cure them). Helps a lot if you've done enough Yukiko social links that she gets Amrita (cure all status effects) but again if you bought items that's not an issue either. If Chie/Kanji don't need to be using items have them use physical attacks- using Media is enough to keep them alive anyway. Block the charge attack- should be obvious- have Yukiko use Agilao/strongest fire magic she has, play it safe, and you can easily do it at your level.

I've done it!! I just took my time, guarded and didn't rush it.

I've also learnt more about the game by going back and replaying the castle and steam rooms.

I've only watched the Vinny and Jeff go through it, but it seems to me that if you want to beat Shadow Teddie, you're going to need some...ahem...endurance. Looks like a long fight.
