Has anybody been able to get the game to run on Windows 8?

I've downloaded and installed the game but when I actually go to try and play it shows the splash screen and then crashes with a message saying Planetside2.exe has stopped working. I've tried running as an administrator and I've made sure I have the latest graphics drivers for my card.

If you have a controller (or certain peripherals) plugged into your machine, unplug it and then launch. I had the same issue when I had my Xbox 360 controller plugged in.

Thanks that was it. Had a 360 controller plugged in and it launched fine after I unplugged it.
