I was looking some stuff up and I came across some info that said the PS3 Component Cables would work on the PS2 and significantly increase the graphics.  Is this true?  I just bought a PS2 to go back through some of the games I missed last generation and was just wondering if they would help improve the graphics.

yes i swap mine when i want to play ps3 and ps2

is that the one with 6 cables?  (i'm not good with names)
if so, i think they'll work, i had those and they worked with my ps2, ps3 and i think my wii.  and it does make games look good too.  it enables the progressive scan mode which looks good in HD (SOTC FTW)

They are interchangeable and they make playing the PS2 look a lot better on a HDTV much better. Otherwise, it looks really bad.
