For the past couple of days the standby light on the ps3 has been turning on and off. It goes on for about an hour, afterwards I'm able to play and watch movies perfectly. It doesn't freeze or lag or anything the system works fine. I thought it was the power source but I switched outlets several times and it keeps doing it. So is the standby light turning on and off a symptom of more problems to come?

Had the sane problem. Stopped playing my ps3 for a year, camee back to it and it worked fine

I'd back up my saves if I was you... You know, just in case.

If it's a fatty, probably.

If it's a slim, it needs to be stored better while in use.

Have you tried using different power cables? It may be a bad fuse, not sure.

Well, there was just a price drop on the PS3, so maybe you should pick one up before your system goes nuke on you.
