So, here in Brazil, as far as I'm aware, we use the NTSC system. But I'm not sure if nowadays this is still a issue.
I'm asking this for a reason, since the Ps3 is not region locked, this would mean I can buy games from any region and have no problems. And, as sometimes it happens, the american version of some games is censored in some aspects, like blood and such whereas the european version is not (the example that comes to mindo is Xenosaga, episode 3).

If I buy an European version a game for the Ps3, will I be able to run them normaly or would it be black and white since they are pal? And don't know if it makes any differece (don't understand much about this) but I have a Sony Bravia.

I think it should be fine. In fact, I recently bought a PAL copy of Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, and am playing it on my NTSC PS3 with no problems whatsoever.

PAL, NTSC differences mainly in games come with the rating their given. NTSC games tend to have higher gore/violence values because restrictions are fairly lenient. I've known identical games that are from different regions and for example; one could show bloody decapitations, the other could not. Exactly the same game otherwise in every way.

Oh, I thought it was the other way around.
