Hey Guys,

I just got an email inviting me into the 3.00 Beta and it says that I should backup my Ps4 before I download the firmware. Is it crucial that I do this? I don't have an external hard drive and I'm wondering if I should just not take part in the Beta.

Any help would be appreciated.

You may lose everything if something goes wrong, so they are telling you to backup. You have to accept the risk of losing your stuff if you are not going to do a backup and still want to use the beta. If it is not worth the risk to you then don't do it.

What can even be lost? Games can be redownloaded and saves are in the cloud. That just leaves screen shots and videos.

@pompouspizza: About the only thing you could possibly lose that you can't restore is PT if you have it. Otherwise, you only risk losing time downloading everything else. All your free + games can still be downloaded.

I haven't tried it, but you might be able to use USB thumb drives to move things to your PC. Edit: Just checked. And you can't if you have a lot of games, since it doesn't let you back up specific games, just their saved data.

@pompouspizza: I actually got a code for the beta too but haven't bothered to download it. Too busy playing MGSV. But I'm real curious about the new friends list/ group stuff.
