I have a problem with my ps4. Sometimes when i hit the power button on my system or controller and it will beep once but not turn on. The light on the ps4 turns blue for a second then goes off.

I have to pull the power cord out the ps4 then put it back in to make it work again. The ps4 will work for a few days then do it again.

I changed the surge protector but it didnt do anything. My ps4 is hooked up to a soundbase.

Not quite sure what might be causing it, but before getting into any big problems that could result in this sort of behaviour, it's probably worth trying stuff like rebuilding the system database etc, stuff that you can do simply and non-destructively, even if just to help rule things out.

You can rebuild the database by having the system powered off, then pressing and holding the power button on the console until it beeps twice, which boots into safemode. I think you'll need to pair the controller again at this point and there should just be a menu option to 'rebuild database'.

I'd try doing that first and see if the problem persists before doing anything else.

Sounds like to me there is a connection issue with the power supply, but I'm no expert so take what I said with a grain (bag) of salt.

When you're finished with a session are you turning off the PS4 completely or only putting it into Rest Mode? Because I've had similar problems with Rest Mode in the past. What I think I traced it to is that if you have the PS4 in Rest Mode and the system downloads a patch for a game, it then will not boot up properly.

Weird, I know, and may not even be correct, but the correlation was pretty strong. When I shut my system down entirely between sessions, the problem goes away, and I only ever have problems using Rest Mode when the system was downloading a patch while the system was resting.
