I'm pretty sure I ended up on there twice. Oops! That's what I get for calling in a couple times to try to rephrase myself...

Patrick's dumb Yoshi's Island gag got me both times.

Damn forgot to call in but oh well, this is really awesome Patrick I'm looking forward to what's next!

I really enjoy the user included content, keep it up!

Hey, I'm on the (internet) radio!

Great feature. I love hearing all of the different reasons people have for loving these games. From Software really created something that resonated with a lot of people - and I'm happy for them. And I'm happy that the game exists, so I can play it.

Duders. This is as dumb as I'd hope it would be. Such a great grab from the community once again Patrick.

I keep getting discouraged to finish Dark Souls. I'm still really early in the game.

I predict 2014 will be the year internet bros continue to call me a Black Knight for defending my own goddamn titanite.

Sweet, I made it in!

I like these Patrick, please do more! Community interaction is one of my favorite things.

Anybody know the music track that @patrickklepek used in this?

Jeff just typed in "Dark Souls" to whatever music repository he's signed up for. This was the first match.

This was really cool to listen to. Thank you Patrick for doing something like this and thanks for everyone who shared their thoughts and feelings on the game, cheers duders!

(unfortunately I didn't know this was happening at the time, so didn't chime in myself)

I'm a huge Souls fan and I have played these games for hundreds and hundreds of hours but I don't have a clue what I would write or say.

Love the souls! It is like old school gaming with new gen systems. It is tough but fair. You must be able to play decent to beat this not just button mashing. The art is fantastic and the feelings of defeating an invader or getting invade right before a boss and dying the level of frustration you just do not get anymore.

Really neat to hear from the community on why they like the souls games.

Edited by JohnRabbit

Where was the request for people to do this? I would have loved to call in.

I feel I'm one of the few people on this site is who ambivalent to the Souls games. At this point I've seen the duders run through them enough that I feel I could talk about the game with minimal bullshitting.

Took the words right out of my mouth!

Was that second to last person a girl or 14 year old boy? Good lil' feature.

Posted by mrsmiley

That was great. Awesome feature!

The community snippet's a pretty cool feature i just wish there was a better way to communicate when it's time to call in.

Edited by Orange_Pork

People love Dark Souls almost as much as they love talking about how much they love Dark Souls.

I'm getting seriously tired of the Souls games.

Edited by Y2Ken

Y'know, I do really enjoy some Souls. Definitely looking forward to DkS II. It's been cool to see the surge of interest here in the lead-up to that game, especially during the past month or so when there's been a fairly notable shortage of particularly exciting new releases (or at least substantial ones, there's been a couple of great small titles that have come out lately). At those sort of times, a recurring feature or game is ideal content, and the two Souls games have fitted into that role rather nicely.

"That feeling of being invaded."

sounds really dirty.

Demon's Souls must be played/finished in contrast to Dark Souls. I came away feeling Demon's is the superior product in many ways.

Not even close!

A lot of people said they like the Souls games because of the discovery, hidden stuff, community that figures it out. This I completely agree with.

Then there are some that say the gameplay is hard. I disagree with that. I'm actually pretty sure any random game I pick from my collection, when played on 'hard' or equivalent, is a harder game as far as gameplay goes than Dark Souls. Dark Souls' gameplay is pretty easy because enemies telegraph every single attack and have a very limited number of them. Once you know them, they pose no threat anymore.

Waiting to hear my call..

Alright, I heard my stupid voice. I'm done.

I like this feature.

Posted by TheVGamer

If this is to become a regular feature, I really wish we could leave messages using anything else other than the shitty phone microphone. Even webcams have better sound quality. Combined with the music, it became an incomprehensible mess halfway through.

I can look into some alternative methods.

Ohhh, i like this feature!! I can't wait to contribute, too bad I missed out on this one.

Posted by MikeLemmer

@mintyice: How would that work for most people? Nearly everyone has a phone, but a Dropbox would require turning it into an audio file, which would require a microphone and the know-how to make it into the asked-for audio format and upload it to said Dropbox.

Edited by mintyice

@mikelemmer: Nearly everyone has a laptop with a microphone that produces better audio quality and dropbox is dead simple.

Posted by Ronald_Raiden

I also love dark souls! A lot! Also Demon's Souls, which I am replaying. It's harder than Dark Souls, I think, but that is partially because I don't remember it as well.

Posted by MikeLemmer

@mintyice: Then you have to deal with instructions on how to record it into an audio file. And you either tell everyone to make it into the same audio file type, or have Patrick convert multiple audio types. Either it raises the barrier of entry on the users or makes more work for Patrick.

Personally, I was able to follow the talking just fine. This seems like a lot of work to solve a minor gripe.

Very cool little piece. Excellent work.

Such great maddness!

Posted by JimmyPancakes

Voicemail all the way, sounds like a phone in show. Part of the charm!

Posted by cooljammer00

I also prefer the low fi stylings of the call in show. If the Dumptruck were an album, it'd be Songs for the Deaf.
