Ubisoft Montpellier's take on the first World War is a surprisingly heartfelt adventure.
Many games try to use nostalgia to lure you in, but few of them are as well-made as Shovel Knight.
Watch Dogs is a solid open-world game that doesn't do enough to set itself apart from the pack.
Jeff, Brad, and Ryan sit down with Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon to discuss MK's place in the world of fighting games, the state of arcades, the potential for Mortal Kombat Vs. Street Fighter, and more.
best. intro. ever.
Test your might...
Having Ed on the show was a real boon to the bombcast...
I knew you guys would beat em to it!
Closest thing to Mk versus street fighter is Mugen, but that breaks some set of characters.
Imagine if you will: Mortal Kombat vs Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat vs Tekken.Games that will ROCK!
Thank you for putting the K in the title, and starting it with that hokey techno song. I wouldn't have it any other way.
ED BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMB!!!!!!!!! Hell yeah!
Spelling K with a K. ALRIGHT!
I love Mortal Kombat and the Kool Kids Klub
Thanks for the Bonus Bombcast guys! Just wanted to say that I really appreciate it! Just so you know you are appreciated.
Ed Boon FTW.
Giant Bomb crew you are wonderful , please ……More special Bomb cast
amazing bombkast. Ed Boon is a cool guy to sit down with you guys.
I don't have much interest in the MK franchise but that was still pretty fascinating given Ed Boon's long career in the business.
It's amazing you guys got Ed Boon to do this bombkast! I'm a huge fan of MK since MK2 days. This has brought so many great memories from back in the day. Thanks once again!
Awesome podcast , I hope yoou guys can do more Q and A with devs like this .
Too bad you couldn't ask him about the fatality 'censoring' , oh well .
P.S. Is it me or does Ed Boon look like Sylar [from Heroes] .
That was a very entertaining interview, which is surprising considering I have very little history with MK.
Why didnt you guys just go for it and call the Ed "Boonkast", like you did with Sporecast and Snakecast.
Things like this just remind me how awesome Giant Bomb is.
You talk about so many things on the Bombcast why could you not have mentioned that there was a new Mass Effect book released this summer? Not even a news story or anything on any gaming sites I visit. A stupid Uwe Boll movie gets a lot more attention than any Halo or Mass Effect book. How can an official book based on a video game not be important enough to at least mention? Don't want to complain too much, you are doing a fine job mostly, but I'm just a bit pissed that no gaming site find books important enough to mention even though they can talk about so many other things that are not releted to video games at all. It's not like I'm asking them to talk about Robinson Crusoe or something these books have official canon story elements and thus very important to any video game player who takes story in games seriously.
Good stuff! More developer bombcasts would be awesome.During the last bombcast, Jeff brought to my attention an article concerning the current state of videogame criticism and so I started a blog about it. I was interested in hearing my fellow Giantbombers' thoughts on the matter. Here's the blog with a link to the article: http://www.giantbomb.com/profile/Dryker/blog/
I don't mean to slander anyone, but Jeff has played MK Special Forces.
You're killing me here guys. Us east coasters suffer every week. Please, think of the east coast!
east coast!? try being british! its 4 am over here!
NEW PODCAST NOW MISTERS!!!!!!
5 AM now, when should we expect it?
Wow Ed Boon! That must of been a real thrill for you guys.
it's weird how the MK vs SF / SF vs MK idea would end up turning into SF vs Tekken instead
Boon should get a cut of Jeff's royalties...
