Sorry, duders. The overwhelming negativity and jadedness of the crew during the last episode (and that of Mark in particular) has turned me off of this podcast forever. I tried giving you all a shot when you first came over to Giant Bomb and I listened to probably the last 15 episodes of the show, but I just don't need any more negativity in my life, especially when it comes to something like games and entertainment. I'm sure some people will say that you are just "telling it like it is" and "not being afraid to step on any toes," but I'd rather not spend my free time listening to people whine.

Cant be bothered with Superbrothers after the whole "wait two days or change your computer clock to proceed" game mechanic. So frustrating.

So you whine in response? Nobody needs to know that you are not listening, you need only to not listen.

Seconded, but I'm still going to listen because I'm a toolbag. I've been listening to the show a lot longer, so it'll take worse to break me. But still, I get sick of Mark being so loud and angry. It comes off as childish.

A little bummed this is all about Sworcery. I tried it back when I had an iPhone and couldn't figure out what the hell was going on. I bought it again in the recent Humble Bundle, maybe on PC it'll make more sense. Either way, we heard enough about this game in 2010 or whenever it came out.

@Matiaz_Tapia: Yeah, I wasn't writing to you. I was writing to 8-4.

Can anyone tell me when they talk about P4 golden? I just want to hear stuff about the game. Nothing more.

But I'm writing to you. I suppose we both are providing completely unnecessary and unrequested feedback. Perhaps out of an unreasonable feeling of self importance.

That feeling you have, you know, the "I don't care dude", it's same same you can expect in response from them. Or do you think you'll be mourned? Or that they will change their ways just for you..the one that got away.

@Matiaz_Tapia: What do you know about what feedback they want?

I just wanna hear her laugh all day. Just loop her laughing into your podcasts in the future. Also, thanks for making me find out what cottaging is. *brb washing eyes with bleach*

Awesome podcast peeps.

"Save link as..."

Last show was sooo superior to anything else, in Podcastland, it's hard to top that.

Posted by Matiaz_Tapia

@mnzy: Mostly, human being like positive feedback. Negative feedback is generally undesired. Is that a good answer for you?

Do I mean that only positive feedback should be provided? No.

Then you probably must wonder that the hell is my point. My point is, a guy saying "i don't want negativity in my life right now" should not be the one being negative or spreading negativity to others. If negativity is something he doea not want, he should be positive. Now does that mean he should accept everything? No.

Do you want me to go on? Probably not. Is that a good answer for you to questions you didn't asked?

Have to wait til later to listen to this one but the anticipation is killing me!

i agree with the jadedness fully (more towards john) , but ill still listen to 8-4, still entertaining,

the bombcast is also jaded at times. but the entertainment of that podcast makes it easy to overlook

Do they even read the comments?  Patrick is the one that posts the podcasts on GB.  8-4 does it on the iTunes end.

You know, there was another way to change the cycle of the moon than just those two things.

Yeah, they do. They've talked about it on the podcast before. That's why I posted it here.

Great episode, listened to it while playing PSO2. The idea of a grown ass man nearly dying vs a single roach is pretty funny. I wanted to hear more about the new Etrian Odyssey though. Also people complaining about negatively every time is surprising considered how often the bombcast hates on stuff. I think I can understand if you just can't listen to a personalilty though, that turns me off to stuff too. That said I hope 8-4 keeps their style, I enjoy their show.

That time of the 2nd week already?! Oh yeahh...

Also, for anyone looking for another great Japanese podcast, check out Red Sun Gamer.

Posted by Phatmac

Uhh.. these people are unbearable. Anyway at least I got some details about the game.

Posted by FluxWaveZ

Excellent podcast, as always. Great to hear Hiroko again.

Posted by OleMarthin

this podcast needs even more Kate Upton talk

Not to bitch about jadedness or people acting miserable, but what is the general tenor of this week's? I really enjoyed C'MON N RIDE IT, but I have little tolerance for grown ass men getting a lip on about video games.

Having just listened to the regular section of the podcast I have no idea what negativity the first poster here was referring to...

I liked this episode and am looking forward to next next week's

Checking out Barnholt's new podcast now, thanks for turning me on to that.

You guys rock. Great podcast!

I disagree with a LOT of what these guys say, especially compared to the GB Duders, but damned if they aren't entertaining when they say it! Also nice to not live entirely in an echo chamber...

This was a truly amazing episode. I loved the Sword & Sworcery discussions.

What animal game is he talking about I never caught a title

Posted by bwheeeler

@Matiaz_Tapia: You're saying criticism about negativity is inherently wrong which is kind of ridiculous.

I haven't listened the podcast yet, but I'm going to guess Tokyo Jungle anyway.

Indeed. I used to like Mark a lot when he was with 1up, but somewhere along the way he became a bit prickish. Or maybe my preferences changed.

I've been enjoying you guys, and I'm not about to stop listening. However I do hope this is a little more positive than the last podcast.

We read all the comments and appreciate all feedback, good and bad. (But mostly good.) :)

Thanks for listening!

Another great episode this week, especially nice to hear more of Hiroko (I love her voice/accent!).

Keep it up.

I don't know what the fuck is happening in the comments this week. A crusade against negativity about games, on Giant Bomb, is pretty absurd. Whether you find people funny or not is subjective, I'll give you that. But c'mon...

I'm kind of getting hype to play Persona 4... even though I've experienced the whole story here.

Seriously. I've never seen this happen in comments on the Bombcast and they're most definitely more negative than the 8-4 cast most of the time. I don't get it.

Maybe some people were just trolling or some were just on bad day. I guess if you were to response to them, it just feeds the oil to the flame.

'Really digging this podcast now. I wasn't planning to listen to the Sword & Sworcery part, but I ended up listening to the whole thing and really enjoying it. Keep it up!

Also! I, for one, enjoy all the real talk about games and the industry.

I love 8-4.

I have this theory. In pop-music, there is this 'IT'-Band. Massive Attack was that band. Portishead. Radiohead was this for a while. There is this magical torch, switching from band to band ...

... and equally, from podcast to podcast?

First, it was with Gamespot, when Rich was the MC and Jeff and Co. went nuts. Then it was with the "Fab 4" at 1UPYours (John Horsearmor, Garnett-Its-my-godamn-show, Shane ManGod and Scarab Lord Luke ("I'm OUT!") ... plus Mark: "WTF? Square Enix Press Relase?!"), then it was with GFW Radio - Jeff Green & Shawn "poopsock" Elliott, etc ... (+"Fragile Eagle!")

At some point it was the Bombcast. But the Bombcast always has that inherent flaw: it is too long. The most interesting and best moments are the intros - not talking about games at all, IMHO. After 30-60 min I doze away. Exceptions are the drunk E3 audio versions - but this years E3 was not that at all.

8-4 is just fun. They have actual, real jobs. Unlike pressers, they really 'are' (now) in the 'industry' they talk about. And they do this podcasts not to beg for money, or because of an attention deficit disorder/vanity.

They do them, because they have FUN doing them?! It is energetic, loud, nerdy, raunchy ... sometimes full with germs (Gesundheit). It is so positively different from most other video game related audio files?

I don't care about most of the games they talk about. I am no 8bit nor JRPG nerd, but I love to listen to them talking about it, just like I liked to listen to Jeremy Parish talking on Retronauts.

Goal in life: meet & have drinks with Mark "Gaming Jesus" MacDonald and have him give me a nickname. I would put that on a t-shirt, because I probably deserve it!

Who fucking needs forced positivity/or forced anything.

They do their thing. I love it.
