Does the Xbox 360 still red light? After all the amazing things shown at the press conference, it's unfortunate that this remains the ultimate equation in deciding whether to buy [again] the Xbox 360 or not.

Hi, I stumbled upon this blog post and I'd like to add my answer to your question. I bought my 360 around the start of 2008 and have yet to experience any red ring problems, this also suggests that its a newer model.
I however have had a game crash on me but that I believe was related to the game rather than the console, plus that was only a one off. I'd like to add also that my 360 is from the PAL region europe and I keep in a suspended panel with ventilation only at the back and top and none really at the sides or bottom.
I think 360's getting the RROD is very rare now that they have improved the console with the latest hardware renditions.
If you are wanting a 360 and the only thing putting you back is the chance of it crashing I say go for it.

I just had my first red ring a few weeks ago and i bought it in november of '07.  I sent it back just last week(June 1st) and almost as soon as they got i got an email saying they it was fixed and they're shipping it back.  I'm geussing that means it's a new model but i'm looking forward to getting back on thursday.

Like McPaper said, they seem to be getting rarer and rarer so i say go for it dude!
