Your home is rather basic. Nothing really to change except wallpaper. You'll find yourself wanting out real quick. Then you hit the main square,plaza...what ever they call it. This is where usually guys hit on people who they think are girls and such. Then you have the mall. Which is full of nothing at the moment. Next door is the theater. The theater only plays videos for Sony games. So there aren't really any movies...IT'S ALL LIES! Next door to that is the best place ever! That place is the Bowling Alley.  You can Bowl, play pool and even play some lame arcade games for free!  Overall Home is alright for now. But it needs to add some more stuff for the users to do. Sony also needs a dance club...just a thought.

Now on to more human matters. I had a great time with my huge family during Thanksgiving. I brought an early Christmas present for my cousins to play. That present was Rock Band. My cousins had a blast. We played Rock Band all day. I ended up crashing there and watched MI:3. Which was better than I thought it was going to be. I'm still a Bourne fan all the way though.

So yeah...I'm off to dance more in Home.

Cameron

Hello everyone!

Well it looks like Charlotte will be getting another Arena Football team. But this time it's with a different league. This time it's with the AIFA (American Indoor Football Association). The team Charlotte will be getting is called Carolina Speed. They'll be coming down from Raliegh to play at the Cricket Arena (Soon to be Bojangles arena). With season tickets starting at $60.00 bucks in a small arena with no bad seats I think I might just go buy some tickets.

 VS.
Tonight I'll be going to see the Charlotte Checkers play. They'll be playing the Mississippi Sea Wolves. This should be a good match tonight. If you can't go to a Checkers game then you can now start watching them on the NHL channel and also on Demand in the Carolinas under Carolina On Demand on Time Warner Cable. Looks like I have a reason to ring my super loud cowbell. WOO!

UPDATE: Charlotte lost 2-0. The Checkers were sloppy and seemed to have no motivation. My father fell asleep during the game...It was that bad.

Well it looks like the NPPL game should be coming in on the 26th...I bet you all are sick of me talking about this game. So I'll just stop there.

Also what's up with all this BS getting put up on game pages and how are they getting up there? Are the mods not checking the info out? It's driving me crazy.

UPDATE: It seems like everything has been fixed on most of the pages.

Anyway I'm off to get my hair cut or buzzed...probably buzzed. I'm OUT!

Cameron

I'm still sick which sucks. But I did listen to Bloodhound Gang's song "Ralph Wiggum".  That some how stopped my coughing... So it might do wonders for people who aren't sick. Try it out. Just press play!

Hello everyone!

I’m currently sick with a cold. UGH! Well anyway…

I just recently played the demo for Left 4 Dead and I must say that it’s pretty awesome. I’ll be picking it up on launch day for sure. If anyone else is getting it make sure to add me to your friends list on XBL. Just send a friend request to AttackedCamo.
Before I got sick I went out and got the 4th, 5th and sixth volumes of Family Guy. So I have been watching those seasons non-stop. I also picked up the 7th season of Scrubs. I never got to watch the 7th season on TV and I must say I’m disappointed. Plus the commentary so far has been not so good. But I did get it for $20.00 bucks, which is nice. I know that the 7th season was shot during the writers strike and that they were in the middle of moving to ABC. But still…

I went out to the midnight launch of Gears Of War 2 when that was released. It was a rather nice experience. I got some free stuff such as an art book for Dead Space for answering some questions right. I really need to check Dead Space out. But after waiting a day for a friend to pick up his copy we both jumped into co-op and beat it in one sitting. Which was about ten hours I want to say. Then we got up to horde number 40. It’s a great game. I need to go back and play the campaign again.

I picked up Call Of Duty: World At War on the 11th. I’m still doing the campaign mode and I haven’t had that “wow” moment yet. But I’m sure I’ll have some fun with the multiplayer. As far as the actual clips go before the missions I didn’t really see them as “that” graphic. Maybe I’ve just become numb to that stuff after looking at so much war footage & photos from the Iraq war.

I’ve also been playing a lot of Saints Row 2, which I’m fully enjoying. There’s nothing like posing as a cop for a TV show and setting people on fire. I love how that camera man says “That’s standard issue right?” Good times…

I’m looking forward to the release of NPPL Championship Paintball 2009. I was a huge fan of Greg Hastings Tournament Paintball so this should be great. Here is the trailer. Enjoy!

As far as today goes I think I’m just going to chill. I might go out and rent the new 007 game and the Bourne game. We’ll see how that goes. Well anyway I’m out.

Cameron

Counter Strike keeps to its roots and brings it to the Xbox.

NOTE: This review was based on the game being played on an Xbox 360. I also played this game when it first came out on the Xbox.

As soon as you pick up the Counter Strike box for the Xbox you'll automatically notice on the back of the box "The #1 online PC action game in the world" There is good reason for this too. Counter Strike maybe a simple premise for gaming, but it involves teamwork and it brings the best of two worlds. Good VS. Evil. Which is Counter Terrorist VS. Terrorists.

Let me get this off my chest, There is no single player. The only single player there is to be had is playing VS. Bots, which can get old. But this does help you get you back on your game on an off night. There is also no split screen multiplayer. The only thing that comes close to it is the System Link. This game is meant to be played online verse others on Xbox Live. People still play this game after six years of it being out. The Xbox 360 being able to play this game helps this. Also if you're new to the Counter Strike world they have two quick tutorials. That should get you on the right track.

If you don't know how Counter Strike works this is how. "Counter-Strike is a first-person shooter in which players join either the terrorist or counter-terrorist team. Each team attempts to complete their mission objective and/or eliminate the opposing team. Each round starts with the two teams spawning simultaneously, usually at opposite ends of the map from each other. Each player generally starts with $800 (although this amount can be modified), Players are generally given a few seconds before the round begins (known as "freeze time") to prepare and buy equipment, during which they cannot attack, be attacked, or walk/move. They can return to the buy area within a set amount of time (90 seconds is the default) to buy more equipment (some neutral "buy zones" can be used by both teams). Once the round has ended, surviving players retain their equipment for use in the next round; players who were killed begin the next round with the basic default starting equipment."

You might be wondering, "How do I get money to buy my weapons?" This is how. If you kill an enemy you get $300 dollars. If you kill all enemies you get $3000 (Hostage-Rescue) or $3250 (Demolition). Got that so far? Wait there is more! Counter Terrorists get money if the do certain things like contact the hostages and such. If you contact a hostage you get $150 dollars. If you rescue a hostage you get $1000 dollars. If you rescue all hostages you get $2500 dollars. If you defuse the bomb you'll get $3250 dollars. But all this isn't limited to the Counter Terrorists. The Terrorists can also get money for doing stuff like detonating the bomb. If you stop a hostage rescue you get $2000 dollars. If you detonate a bomb you'll get $3500 dollars. If you're on either side you need to make sure you don't shoot the hostages. If you shoot the hostages you'll lose a chunk of your money.

The controls are quite simple. The left analog stick makes you move. It also brings up your buy menu. You bring up you buy menu by clicking the left analog stick in. The right analog stick lets you look around. The left trigger makes you crouch. The right trigger makes you fire your weapon. The X button makes you reload. The X button also lets you set up the bomb and defuse the bomb and such. The Y button is to cycle through your weapons. The B button is for alternative fire. This ranges from you changing your weapon to burst fire or some weapons come with silencers, which can be applied, to your weapon with the B button. The A button is to jump. If you jump and crouch at the same time you'll do a crouch jump that'll make you jump higher. If you click in the left analog stick you can look around faster. The term used with it is "Fast look". The Black button lets you cycle through grenades. (The black button on the Xbox 360 controller is the right bumper.) The White button lets you drop your weapon for a quick pick up. (The White button on the Xbox 360 controller is the left bumper). The Start button is for the in-game menu.

The Xbox version of Counter Strike has sixteen plus maps. Seven of them are exclusive to the Xbox. There are also two free downloadable maps over Xbox Live. Both maps are a must download. Did I mention they are FREE? You'll also be able to get your hands on twenty-two weapons. Like AK-47s and Glocks. For some reason all the names of the weapons are changed. The AK-47 is called CV-47, while the Glock is called 9x19 mm. Go figure?

Another thing you'll notice on the back of the box is the "Xbox Live helps ensure a competitive and cheat free environment." Which is somewhat true. There are still glitches. Such as people being able to get into spaces that they shouldn't, such as ceilings. You also may run into some people that use mouse and keyboards. It doesn't happen all that often but it will happen. But this is where things make the Counter Strike community great. If someone is cheating most hosts don't even hesitate to kick the cheater out of the match.

But online is where it's at. It's basically single player. But the bots are replaced with humans. Most matches are lag free. It's also pretty easy to just jump right into a game. So this game can be a deep experience or a pick up game. The online supports up to 16 players. This game also has leader boards if you're into that kind of thing. One thing I noticed while playing it on the Xbox 360 is that the load time are about 5 seconds longer.

Since this game is now only $10.00 or less at stores, why not pick it up for a good online experience? I promise you there is fun to be had with this version of Counter Strike.

Not even Nectar can pump this game up.

Free Radical Design has been known to make great games. Sadly this isn't one of them. Even though this game had promise it falls flat on its face for many things.

You start off as a soldier named Shane Carpenter for a corporation named Mantel Global Industries. Mantel Global Industries is a multinational corporation with bio-medical expertise. This has led to the development of Nectar. Nectar is like steroids. It beefs up your character to run, jump, shoot and heal faster. In the game you'll be able to use Nectar to your advantage. But you'll have to be careful not to overdose. If you overdose your vision will go red and you'll randomly start shooting. Later on you'll see what exactly Nectar can actually do to your body and comrades. This will open your eyes and make you shift sides over to the Rebel side. You are then stripped of your Nectar and left with tricks instead of the latest equipment. When you're a Rebel you can take your enemies Nectar pack and slap in on a grenade. The grenade will explode with nectar in the air and fellow Mantel soldiers will overdose leading them to go suicidal or go on a rampage killing their own.

This all sounds fine and swell until you actually start to play the game. You'll get the sense that this was quickly rushed out the door. With lack luster visuals that will leave you wanting more from your PS3 to the horrid voice acting. You'll always find something that will nag you. Just like as soon as you put the disk into your PS3. You are forced to install the game. Sure it's only once but it's annoying. The game is also about 5 hours long. So you can beat this game in about two to one sitting if you wanted to.

The games story is something that was praised about through the whole time Haze was about to be released. There is nothing to be praised here. It's pretty much a lack luster conspiracy theory that was probably ripped from some web page out there. Add that with some stereotypical situations (Evil fellow soldier) and characters (Meat head and redneck soldiers) and you have yourself a horrible story.

With a under whelming story you think that Haze would try to blow you away with graphics. Well...it doesn't. It'll leave you scratching your head about why is everything so murky and bland. While forest areas can look decent everything else just looks like crap. Characters also don't look that great either. They all just seem really plastic.

Sounds are very important in a game. Sound makes or breaks the mood in a game. Every sound in the game breaks the mood. Mostly the horrid voice acting. It will have you cringe every time a word is uttered. Add that with repetitive sayings (Like "Remember your promise to Merino."), bad car and ATV sounds. Bland gunfire is also a problem. When you fire your gun it seems like your gun isn't powerful or working right. Another weird thing I ran into is that at one point they actually censor some words in this game. Yes with the *beep* sound and all. It'll leave you wondering why? This game already has an M rating for Strong Language so why not put it in?

One good thing about this game is that the controls are solid, except when driving. It's pretty much your standard shooter controls. R1 to fire, R2 to melee, R3 zoom, L1 throw grenade, L3 crouch, X jump, Square interact, Circle to go through your weapons and triangle to reload and pick up weapons. L2 is for your Nectar. The controls are smooth.

Multiplayer has three game modes Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Assault. The game also has six different maps. All can be played online and offline. Only Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch can have bots. When I was playing online I found that most servers only had about five to three people in them with the rest bots. The both teams have different skills just like in the game. It seemed pretty well balanced when I was playing. But while playing you get a feel like the whole multiplayer experience was rushed and half-assed.

All around this game just feels rushed. This game could have been so much more but it isn't. The thing is that this game isn't broken, it's just not well executed. So if you are really in some serious need for some FPS action on the PS3 just give this game a rent. Otherwise just skip it all together.

Skate is a perfect blend of new breed in the skating genre.

As we all know there has been a big named star called Tony Hawk that has laid waste to all skateboard game clones. Luckily Tony can't touch this game. Why? Because it's a different view on skating. Instead of combos and doing revert to manuals all the time you will now be looking for the perfect line. That is what this game is…a perfect line. But the line doesn't go out far enough.

You start off as an unknown skater that gets hit by a bus and has to be taken to the hospital for major surgery. That's when the game kicks in. You start off by creating a character. Creating a character feels put together well. It feels like a less intense version of the Tiger Woods customization options. You can either not go in deep or go all out. You can pull all the stops from how big your skater is to size of the face. Then you go onto cloths and boards.

This is where the fun starts. You get out of the hospital and taken on a tutorial. It's very simple and it just teaches you the basics. You'll want to learn even more when the first tutorial ends. The rest of the tutorials are spread out and are taught to you by pros in the game. During the first tutorial it will also show you how to use the camera in the game. You can take pictures and videos and upload them on the Internet and Xbox Live for everyone to see your mad skills…or your horrible crashes.

After the first tutorial you are let loose on the city which is nicely built. Pedestrians crowd downtown. Cars drive by and honk horns when you get to close. You can also hear people talk on their phones and to each other. The city really feels alive. I want to say it feels like a Need For Speed sized city. By the end of this game you will still be finding new hidden places or some bench that is in a back ally.

After the tutorial you can start taking on missions that range from you skating a line, competing in competitions, competing in a game like horse called S.K.A.T.E., racing downhill and owning spots. You do all these missions or events to get rep to get sponsors. You get up to 4 sponsors. You get a shoe, deck, trucks and wheels sponsor. You can pick any sponsor from a pretty big list. But be careful! You can only choose a sponsor once. After that it stays permanent. You can't go back and change it.

Basically your main goal is to get coverage so you can get sponsors so then you can go to the X Games. That's right the famous X Games where you will compete in 2 events. You will compete in Street and a huge "Mega Ramp". When they say mega they aren't kidding. That's pretty much the game. There is no plot or twists. It's just you skating. Which is a good thing in my book. But it would be nice to see some sort of plot as long as it's not like THUG or THAW.

After you finish the game you are still left to skate. Which Skating in Skate pulls you in with the "Flickit" controls. Yes it's one word. Basically it's what EA has been doing to almost all the sports games. They integrated the right analog stick as your skateboard. Your left analog stick is for steering you board. What makes this unique is that you actually have to learn the trick. Some of these missions or events require precise landed tricks. You'll have learn all the tricks and memorize them. I found this way more fun that just pressing a button. This also pans out in game play. Say I want to grind a rail. I have to line up with the rail and Ollie at the right time to land on the rail. You can land on the rail or you can shift you board around with the "flickit" controls to do different grinds. . The controls in this game are demanding yet forgiving at the same time. Like they say "Practice makes perfect." The controls also make it feel more like a sim which is a good thing.

The camera angle scared me at first. It's down low at your skaters feet. It will feel weird at first but you will adjust to like it. Just like the music. The music selection is a wide mix. From classics to new songs. The weird thing is you never really hear the songs unless you put them on soundtracks. The game automatically puts the music in ambiance mode. Which means the only way you here the music is if you go to a popular skate area in town. The music also leads you to hidden places.

The sound effects are great! You hear your wheels go in between crack in the road. You can hear your wheels screech to a stop when power sliding … you get the idea. Just every surface you can think of your board going over you can hear it perfectly in this game.

Multiplayer is a must now in almost all games. Multiplayer in Skate is great because you can just skate with friends around the city or you can compete against one another. You can compete in S.K.A.T.E., Own The Spot and much more. What's also cool is that you can go in and watch people skate if your fingers are tired. It's kinda like Gotham TV from PGR but live.

One HUGE downside to this game is the streaming billboard ads. There is nothing like seeing Small Ville DVD and T-Mobile ads all over the place. You'll find yourself downloading a patch just to put more ads on the billboards. Most of the ads are done right… but when there is only two people advertising at one time you see the same dang billboard every two seconds.

This is a good first installment of the game and I hope to see the game again. If you are tired of Tony Hawk and need a new skate fix then look no further...Because Skate is here to stay.
