What I liked about the game
- Very solid controls: Everything you do in the game just feels right, from shooting to giving commands to your squad.
- Level up!: Leveling up can be done in every game mode, from single player to online.
- Great multiplayer: With 4-player Terrorist Hunt to all of the great multiplayer modes, and with maps like Villa, you can't go wrong.
- Guns, guns, guns!: A wide array of firearms, and each of them fires and feels different.
What I didn't like about the game
- Should've been DLC: I don't see how this should not have been DLC instead of a full-fledged $60 game.
- Uneven storyline: All of the back and fourth can get a bit annoying.
- Enemy spawn points: They'll spawn right in front of you, especially while playing Terrorist Hunt.
The Lowdown
I'm sure many of you will be surprised to see this game appear so high on the countdown. Thing is, RSV2 kept me busy for the better part of 2008. I played it endlessly when it was first released, went back to it last summer and yet again 2 months ago. So yeah, I guess I liked the game a little bit. The storyline wasn't anything to write home about. It was uneven and you never quite knew in which time frame you were playing in. However, it did have co-op play, which always makes things better. Speaking of which, one of the best modes ever created for a shooter, Terrorist Hunt, made it's triumphant return in this year's edition. Add to the mix Team Leader and the incredible map called Villa, and you have yourselves one hell of a good time. Is RSV2 better online than off? Pretty much. I cannot wait to see where Ubisoft takes the franchise next.The Countdown So Far
