This was one of the 4 or so things I've backed on Kickstarter, sadly. On the plus side I believe I only went for the lowest tier which was supposed to deliver an actual game so the financial loss is minimal, but it has pretty much put me off backing anything via Kickstarter now unless it has a well known developer/publisher with years of history behind it.
The thing is, the pitch was intriguing, "screenshots" made it look like a fair amount of work was already done, it was already greenlit and it seemed a fairly simple game to produce so I felt no issues with, essentially, pre-ordering and paying a few months in advance so that it could actually exist. No warning bells rang, and I'm normally ridiculously sceptical and cautious about everything. But hey, live and learn, I learnt not to trust Kickstarter at all.
