I just got finished applying to Arizona State. I'm kinda doing this one app secretly. My parents want me to go to a college here in Florida. Do you think it would hurt to send my resume to them (the application never brought up any of that type of stuff)? They have a rolling admission policy, so my application is probably just about to get under review. I think it would ...

So I was one of the suckers who bought the Internet Channel and now that it's free, Nintendo gave those of us who did 500 points to compensate. Problem is, I was born in 1992, so my knowledge of NES games isn't great. If I could get some recommendations, that would be great.   I already have: Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, Punch-Out, Pac-man, Blades of ...

I already sent this to the bombcast e-mail address, but I thought I would just put this up here to see what my fellow Giant Bomb community members thought of it. In case you didn't listen to the bombcast this week, the crew was discussing that Brad was the only one not involved in a bet and that he should get in on the action.

This bet is between Brad and whoever loses the Jeff/Dave bet. Many people feel that 1 shot of gin is not going to be enough to get a satisfactory response out of the loser. This bet will ensure that we will get a good response somehow. Here it is:

Brad vs Jeff/Dave

Jeff/Dave wins if they throw up after having 1 shot of gin.
Brad wins if he does not.

The loser has to drink 4 shots of gin or until they get sick. That's an additional 4 shots if it's Jeff or Dave.

What do you guys think? I'm no alcohol expert, but I'm pretty sure 4 shots of gin is pretty steep.

Last night on the live feed, I posed the question "Will I ever be loved?". To my surprise, Ryan Davis himself immediately said "no". Lets just say in the past year my luck with the ladies hasn't been too good because I moved to a new town (that's my excuse anyway). I always thought it might happen one day, but I guess not.

I would just like to thank Ryan for this. At first I was upset, but then I realized he was doing it for my own good. Now I'm prepared to tackle life head on. When that girl asks me if I want to go back to her place, I'll be damn sure to make sure I still have my wallet. Thank you sir!

Here is proof of this accord (8:10):

I only use my phone for calling/texting/web browsing. Also, I have Verizon, so I would be getting screwed over bad because they still charge you for airtime I believe. I'll just use my DS. If I have the money to get a cell phone game, then I should be saving that up to get a game for my DS or maybe one of my consoles.

So I really miss being part of a game site. I don't know why I stopped being part of this site so much, I guess school just caught up with me or something. Anyways, if you care, you haven't missed too much. I've played some new games and stuff. Guess I'll cover some of that briefly here really quickly.

  • Tales of Vesperia: Really loved this game. No seriously, it's awesome. Gameplay is loads of fun and the story is not too bad for a typical Japanese RPG. If you're into that type of thing, go for it.
  • NHL 09: I really liked what they did with this year's edition. Online stuff is great with all of those leagues and online teams, but since school kinda keeps me busy, I don't really have the time for such things.
  • Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World: Eh...don't go in expecting too much. Characters are kinda annoying, gameplay is fine and the pact system is actually kinda neat (it has its flaws though). It feels a little too Japanese for me, but not bad.
  • Penny Arcade Episode 1: Kinda expensive, but I really enjoyed it. Fun battle system and it's funny. Just really great.
  • Call of Duty: World at War: Not as good as Call of Duty 4. That's really all I need to say, I guess.
  • NHL Arcade 3-on-3: Really not worth the price, fun, but not worth the price. Also, really easy achievements. I think I might write a review for the first time in a loooooong time.

That's all I can think of right now. I'm sure there is more. Hopefully I will be an active member of this site more often.

Alright, I'll tell it straight up, I bought a Nintendo 64. I truly loved the console. However, when I had a good amount of quality GC and PS2 games, I forgot to show it some love as well. So my mother forced me to give it to my neighbor's kids. They loved the exchange, but I was left heartbroken. There are some games that I know will never make it to the virtual console and some games are cheaper than it is on the Virtual Console. So lets view my entire order on Amazon, shall we?

Red Nintendo 64 with good controller and all required cables...$40
Mario Party 3...$30
Donkey Kong 64...$12
Beetle Adventure Racing...$5
Weird Red Expansion Thing...$5
Memory Card...$0.01 (no joke)
Various shipping and handling charges...?

Now before, you all wonder if I'm going crazy, I have an unhealthy love for the Mario Party series. Mario Party was the first game I owned when my parents gave me my Nintendo 64 for my birthday. I fell in love. Mario Party 3 was always the best in the series in my mind. Mario Party 4-8 have been nowhere near as good and do not serve as good replacements. Donkey Kong 64 was also an amazing game that I never got around to finishing and I would like to do so. Plus the multi-player is just awesome. Beetle Adventure Racing was this really amazing racer with a bunch of cool courses.

That's all I really have to say. Judge my reckless investment in a reply if you would like.
