Funny to see this on the front page just after listening to this weeks bombcast, 27/10/2020, where Geometry Wars comes up multiple times in the lead up to the PS5 launch.

@the_nubster: Oh, no worries. I thought that you had stopped watching the video after they said it was being recorded live with chat so I just replied so you at least gave the video a chance (because I really liked it). <3

@the_nubster: The only game in this Jackbox Pack 7 that has extended timers when the audience is unlocked is Quiplash 3 - for the other 4 games, the times with or without an audience are identical. They even turned off Audience suggestions, So this Quick Look was barely affected by being streamed live.

Edit: Champ'd Up does too but the timer is hidden in the battle animation and I didn't notice. Still, it's not affected much.

"Indoor use only" seems like a real missed opportunity, although I understand the technical difficulties outdoor tracks would create for something like this in its early stages.

I don't think there's a reason why this car wouldn't work outside. I think that disclaimer is just there as a legal liability thing: if the wheels break by driving over some grass, gravel or mud, or the signs get damaged by the wind or rain, you can't complain about it. Similar to how the course-creation stops if the cars wheels leave the ground: no complaining if the car breaks from a fall. Nothing stops someone from creating a path then, after the course is set in the game, putting a jump in (or just having a ramp to the side and using it as shortcut like Jan did). All these things are just to limit the people who can claim a short lifespan to those who used it on flat indoor surfaces (i.e. the least likely to break it).

Abby, you are such a joy. I'm glad we still have a few weeks left before you go because I'll miss you lots. All the best. (P.S. I hope your chair is alright or you can exchange it for the smaller one).

As someone who knows nothing about the Baldur's Gate series and very limited understanding of D&D, this quick look was super helpful. Seems interesting enough that I may try it when it finally releases.

One thing though, at the start Rorie and Vinny seemed to say that most people would find the character creation to be satisfactory (albeit missing classes because of early-access) but honestly, the inability to create a whole-ley unique character face-shape is a huge turn-off. I understand having pre-built faces helps a tonne for animation (especially with multiple races to consider) but being able to at least choose eyes, nose, jaw, cheekbones, independently really adds a lot for me (even if there are only a few preset options for each).

I also find it funny Brad mentioned how most players had been making generic human characters when my immediate thought when Vinny loaded up a save was "wow the three pre-built party members seem super generic". I know they have unique things to them (like one being a vampire) but honestly, all three of them looked like generic Dragon Age NPCs.

I do wish they'd either created a stylised animated version of Greg, or made the images of the other characters more realistic - mixing the two is just odd. That said, Greg seems fine in it: he's been hired to play a similar role to his presenting roles so I get how weird it is, but it's no different to any other actor being typecast.

If they end up doing a similar thing for Zelda's anniversary next year, I hope they treat those games better...

This seems interesting but the manic multiplayer and story-focus seems incongruous. Plus, if they're going to add a Portal-esque facade-break then it should happen much later.
