Hi, there! My name is Nick Lynch, I'm 25 and live in the UK.
I have a degree in English Language and Human Communication, which I attained in 2005, although I have been writing opinions and reviews through various media from my late teens. Recently, my two favorite interests have been intertwining quite well. I have been playing video games from an early age, as I'm sure you have. When I started to write more frequently during university, I started to branch out and try writing reviews and thoughts about the video games universe not just the games I was playing or excited about at the time. I currently own an Xbox 360 and Sony PSP. By owning both a console and portable gaming system, I can review and comment on both aspects of the business, adding more strings to my bow. Unfortunately, this was just a hobby of mine (although I enjoy writing and still do) in the early years and through uni, so my ideas for reviews were just scribbled down on paper and not really for anyone else but myself.
However, my writing skills have developed considerably in recent years, so I wanted to join a social network which was games related, but on which I could produce blogs and updated reviews that I could use as a portfolio of sorts, and so my Gamespot account was created. As I get older, I have realised the time for acting on ones ambitions is approaching fast and I'd like to say that I did something that I really wanted to do, and that is write about video games and provide an accurate and indepth commentary on the business as a whole. I enjoy using social media and networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook and Digg as they can be valuable tools in developing awareness of your product or service. It's also a good way to keep your finger on pulse of whatever you're interested in, as the information comes directly to you.
I am studying courses in web design in my free time so I can unite my writing experience, video game knowledge and website design ability into one package.
Here are some examples of my work: Blog: http://uk.gamespot.com/users/Drumtasticnick/blog Although there aren't many entries there at the moment, but at the moment I believe it's better to have quality over quantity in this case. May I draw your attention to the 21st August, 6th August (Why I'm addicted to achievements) and the 1st August (Why I've gone off Halo 3) entries as well as my opinions on the fall of Duke Nukem creaters 3D Realms. You may also notice that I like to incorporate mini reviews into my blog posts as it just seems to flow a little better. Reviews : http://uk.gamespot.com/xbox360/puzzle/peggledualshot/player_review.html?id=677249&tag=all-about;review2 http://uk.gamespot.com/xbox360/adventure/condemned2bloodshot/player_review.html?id=682138&tag=all-about;review1
Unfortunately, these are the only ones I've managed to do, but as mentioned above there are mini reviews/previews in my blogs, so I hope you find them more credible. I hope you have as much enjoyment from reading my entries as I did writing them, as I really do have a passion for this and I believe I have found my niche.
