1) XCOM: Enemy Unknown

2) Mass Effect 2

3) Hitman

4) Skyrim

5) Super Mario Maker

6) GTA 4

7) Shadow of Mordor

Didn't play: Uncharted 2, The Last of us (damn you, console exclusives!), PUBG.

I'm pretty sure i would like "The last of us" best out of those.

This maybe a silly mistake, but smoke doesnt only prevent attacks, it also prevents repairs, not knowing this costed me a pretty good run with the Blitzkrieg squad.

I reckon if you edit some of the text it could have been written by Kojima.

The Witcher 3 of course. I have played quite a bit of skyrimm and got involved in the phisical world, but not in the fiction. The Witcher (allf of them, but specially 3) grabed me by the throat and just wouldn't let go, when i finished it i had it installed for many months and just popped back in to ride roach through velen from time to time. Witcher one is kind of hard to get back to, but "The Witcher 2: Assasins of Kings" is great in its own right.

Hyper light drifter. There is no lore or text, but I'm a big Ghibli fan and there is something about this game that makes me feel like ghibli makes me feel, it's like i'm playing NausicaƤ.

Dreamfall Chapters and also it's prequels: "The longest Journey: Dreamfall" and "The longest Journey"; but beware the first two are old and kind of hard to get into them now. The newest does a decnt job o sumarizing the story so far, but i think you'll be best served by watching a youtube video.

Torment: Tales of Numenera was billed as a planescape succesor, not quite, but the world is fascinating and the writing solid.

Divinity Original Sin I and II are to top down rpgs what the witcher 3 is to 3rd person action rpgs.

Vampire the masquerade: Bloodlines is truly an underrated gem.

Transistor is short but every little new info you sacrape togeteher makes for a very satisfiying expirience, you also need at least a second playtrhough to wringe everything out of it.

Abby is awesome, as usual with Giantbomb, my only problem is that i dont have enough time to consume all the awesome happening at any given moment.

They really are different things, specially since games are interactive in ways that other media cant be, and mostly still try to be "fun" first and anything else later... when i think about movies or books the ones that i cherish the most are those that stayed with me in some manner, pulling my thoughts towards them in unexpected ways long after i experienced them, even if it was a difficult watch/read that simply warrants a second run, it adds to the allure of the artwork.

If i think about it though, my two top games of all time are quite different, and are in that position because of quite different things:

Age of empires II is, undoubtly, the game i've played the most in my life, i played at least three or four hours daily during a couple years. The best RTS game ever in my book, i learned every nuance of every civilization, i developed my build orders according to which civ and map i was playing. Mechanically, this is the most engaged i have ever being by a game, and probably the most fun i've had with anything ever.

On the other hand, The Wticher 3 took over almost any other game or activity when it launched for me. I had it installed in my computer since it launched till february this year. I will concede that gameplay wise its not amazing (even though i enjoy the combat and roleplay hard as Geralt, serching for ingredients and preparing oils, etc), however the world was so beautifully realized and the characters that i knew since the first game where so loved by me at this point that i just couldn't uninstall it, i recieved every expansion with a ridiculous ammount of joy, i just simply didn't want it to end. I often opened the game after i finsished it just to ride roach through Velen, Skellige or Toussaint.

So i'm not sure, this is a long non answer. I still kind of miss Geralt and Ciri though, i miss them, like old firends.

The Witcher 3, all expansions included, has probably become my favorite game of all time, next to AOEII... maybe DOOM, i'm not certain about it though, i'll have to replay it in a couple years to be sure.

I don't follow comic vine, although i did enjoy the mistery art challenge videos a whole lot. Tony (and Sara) felt like part of the family, if only as the cool cousin that you get to see only on holydays.

All the best to him.
