Top Ten NES Soundtracks
These are my top ten favorite original NES soundtracks ranked in descending order of awesomeness. I still think there are melodies in these games that are some of the best melodies ever written. It is amazing to me what the composers could do with such a limited selection of primitive digital instruments and tight memory constraints. They were forced to the peak of creativity in order to give us music that, despite extreme technical constraints, could have an emotional impact on the player.
Honorable mentions go to (in no particular order): Final Fantasy, Contra, Metal Gear, Ducktales, Metroid, Tombs and Treasure, and all three NES Castlevania games.
