I work in an independent video game store and aside from asking us what time we close, the next most popular question is "what should I get?". We sell more PS3 systems than any other console so I've had to do a lot of recommending so I think I've probably got a pretty good idea of what to buy if you want to make that PS3 purchase. This isn't supposed to be some pro PS3 anti everything else list as I like every system out there in it's own way.
Without a doubt this is the best reason to own the system. Uncharted 2 was an amazing accomplishment and the next game in the series won't disappoint.
The best baseball games I've ever played come from this franchise. You have to feel bad for those stuck with inferior games. The Road to the Show mode is incredibly deep and addicting. Just one more pitch...
While not a PS3 exclusive, it certainly helps to have the single disc. It's a tremendous game that isn't for everyone but I think it's one of those games where you have to play it at least once.
For myself personally, Heavy Rain sets a benchmark for what games can be. Great storytelling even with some plot holes and engaging yet incredibly simple controls. Yes it feels less like a game and more like a movie but it's as entertaining as any game or movie I've experienced in quite some time.
You can't think PS3 without thinking about it's online features. Playstation Plus pays for itself very quickly with it's selection of free games plus even without plus you don't have to pay to play online.
