I've been a nerd my whole life, but I don't think I fully accepted it until I went to college. Now, I'm trying to make up for lost time and am proud to let my geek flag fly. I played my first PC game-Ernie's Big Splash-on the family IBM at age 3, from then on I was obsessed with games. My first console I had all to myself was my Sega Genesis when my parents finally caved after years of me begging and needling them. They eventually accepted that I was a girl who loved video games and other stuff generally considered to be "boys toys." I think they figured I would just go to friends' houses or arcades and play games anyway, so why not give me my own.
