Video Travel Series: Belize

Last year I bought a Nikon D3100, looking to get into photography. Over the past few months, I have gradually shifted to a more video-focused interest.

Last month, I went on trip with my school to Belize. I decided I would make a video travel series about the trip.

Shot on a D3100, edited on an iPad 2.

Let me know what you guys think, very open to feedbac.

Thanks!

There are lot of great DIY DSLR video channels on Youtube. Like others have said, the shake detracts a bit from the video (no VR?), a lot of people counter this by making lots of quick cuts between shots. I don't really like that kind of production though,it feels like I'm watching MTV when the camera angle changes every 0.5 seconds. Music helps make frequent cutting less offensive if it's timed right though.

Definitely get yourself a $4 follow focus, and watch QuickFX videos if you're really into this stuff. He shoots Canon, but all the DIY gear and tips are universal. I'd also recommend Adobe After Effects, it's kind of a small-project industry standard since Final Cut X came out. Dave Dugdale has a lot of great videos too, he's got one on there where he just lists all the best DSLR video channels he's learned from.

@Sin4profit: I'll give you that. I didn't want to fly with my tripod because the TSA would probably stick it up my rear.
