duke nukem forever was #2 in sales from 5/29/11 through 7/2/1. while these good games have sold poorly child of eden (30,000+) and shadows of the damned(20,000+). gearbox/2K marketed the fuck out of Duke, but EA couldn't be bothered to advertise shadows even a little bit. come on EA what's the point of having a partners program if you won't support your partners?

bottom line: how can you expect people to know about these games IF YOU DON'T TELL THEM?

Seems pretty fair to me, they put more money into ads and got more out of it. Saying one game sold better than  another is unfair is childish.

Eh. If you ask me, Child of Eden, even with all its artistic accomplishments, was a 2-hour game that retailed for full price. Had it been $15-$20, it would have sold a lot more. Making an uproar now because Duke Nukem outsold other games is dumb as fuck. Popular games, despite their quality or lack thereof, have always outsold niche titles.

Also, the amount of hate Duke Nukem is getting is ridiculous. There are far worse games. It's cool to hate on Duke and blame that game for the state of the industry, right?

Is it sad that Shadows of the Damned, a phenomenal game, didn't sell better? Sure.

But it's not unfair. Child of Eden, however, kind of got what it had coming. $50 for two or three hours is just not acceptable these days.

it's the way life is. i never heard of those games. it's all how the market is, if it's advertised then people might buy it, but if it isn't marketed then it's going to suck.
