This is very disappointing. Even to this day the original Yars' Revenge is unique and timeless. To see what Atari have done here - make an anime on rails shooter where, seemingly, not much happens at all - it's just very sad. An iconic game that was a system best seller deserves so much more than this.

A legend of video game history is being brutalized here folks, all for the sake of a few bucks.

Not defending this game nor the original. But I really dislike reviews that open with a casual dismissal of an old game as 'nothing but gore' with 'no gameplay'. Sure, the gameplay wasn't entirely interesting but the - apparently - superficial parts of the gore actually combine to make a game that had more atmosphere and an art design that was groundbreaking for the time. Horror games were a rarity back then and this game filled that gap as well as making the genre its own by being one of the best.

I think in the context of a review it's not best practice to give a one paragraph panning of a decade old previous title. All it does is bring up questions of whether the writer has played the game enough to legitimately come to those conclusions, or indeed if the writer played the game in context (when it was released) or whether they just played the inferior console ports or, perhaps, the emulated version included in this new release.

Not trying to be negative here. Just this is one of my pet peeves in writing and critical reviews.

As a paying customer, I request.. Nay, DEMAND, that Game Room quicklooks continue until the service dies, even if Jeff is the last person in the world playing it. I look forward to these every damn week.

I really hope this 'afterlook' thing doesn't become common. The whole point of these is to get a sense of the action while it's happening. As much as Brad doesn't like to die, it's a lot more entertaining than watching a static video with static commentary.

Oh man... I absolutely love Space Giraffe and it is my favourite downloadable game ever. But something about this video made me feel weird. It could be a combination of the visuals and the capture frame rate...

I encourage everyone to download Space Giraffe though. It's only 400 points.

Here's hoping Gridrunner Revolution makes it to XBLA.
