Tips on How to get your Wife to play World of Warcraft with you

1. Approach her nicely about playing the game. The key word here guys is 'nicely'. Saying "yo, bring me a sandwich b***h and come watch me show you this game" will not work on 80% of the women out there. You have to foster a feeling of caring and sincerity as you slowly caress one of her arms and say "honey, after you bring me my sandwich I want to show you my rogue." This will force your wife to let her guard down as she sits on your lap and watches you play for a bit. Your main goal here is just to introduce her to the game as she sits on your lap.
2. Pop the question. You have managed to show your wife the game and now it is time to approach her about the possibility of her playing along side of you. You will need an extra $15/month and a 2nd computer preferrable in the bedroom where you both can play. I recommend the bedroom since you can play into the wee hours of the night and just roll over a bit into your bed once your raid or instance is over. Close bed proximity means more time playing and less time walking around the house. Ask your wife if she would play with you for one month to see how she likes it. You may have to bring yourself to tears here for a bit guys. I have found that if you are not an excessive crier, this works 100% of the time. If you explain to her (in tears) that this means so much to you and you can finally do something together she will reluctantly agree to the one month trial period. Pat yourself on the back, you have successfully managed to get your wife to play with you.
3. Make her start as a Female Hunter Night Elf. This is the most important rule. Your wife must start as a Female Hunter Elf or you WILL NOT get past the one month trial period. Show her the /dance command right out of the gate so she can feel sexy. Be sure to play as a Night Elf Priest so that you can come to her rescue when she needs healing. Let her get most of the kills. As a bonus you can call her by her character name while at the grocery store shopping for sandwich components.
4. Never yell or hit her. This is an important step that many people overlook. You must remember that your wife has graciously agreed to partake in your nerd fest because she loves you and is looking for a last-ditch method to re-connect with the husband that she once loved. I know it gets frustrating as she aggros every enemy around the zone and runs back to you for healing but you must understand she does not know any better. Hitting or yelling at her will only make her resent you and possibly quit the gaming session for that day. Tell her what she is doing wrong and let her know that she has been playing long enough to know the simple rules of aggro. Let her know that there are many other women out there less intelligent than her that have no problem with these simple play mechanics. Also tell her that by her playing badly it reflects poorly on you and that you don't want to look like a total tard in front of the whole server. If you say these things nicely (possibly in tears) she will get the hint and tighten up her game. If you are lucky she will bring you a sandwich also.
5. Have fun. Just remember, you are grinding with your wife. Give her a few months and she will be playing better than yourself. You may want to learn how to cook or at the very least learn how to make your own sandwiches.
