This opened up some wounds for me from my mom's death that I thought were farther along the healing process than they were, but I'm glad you shared it. Thank you, Alex.
Still think they should bust up Best Music into a music-as-part-of-a-greater-whole category, and a music-wholly-on-it's-own category (like a best soundtrack/best album kinda thing), but overall a very enjoyable discussion. Spiritfarer almost coming back into the race was a highlight, for sure.
The multiplayer category seems to be a bit unfocused; definitely felt like they were groping in the dark at times, trying to determine what the criteria was for the winner. Still a good listen, though.
Great job, duders. Props to the production work this time around, especially.
As a lot of people have said, this was great; very strong start for GOTY. Maybe the key was just doing it live, all this time? I think the pressure of this being live is bringing out the best of the crew; I'd love to see them do this together in person next year, assuming things are less of a trash fire.
It's a bummer to not get a whole host of podcasts during winter break, but if the end result ends up being this good, I don't really care when we get it. Looking forward to digging into day 2!
I'd be curious to hear why Jeff doesn't like tricking people in Among Us, but did enjoy it in Split or Steal. Maybe it's that he would play the former with friends and the latter with strangers?
