2021 GOTY list

2021 was a pretty shit year, but at least there were some game to keep me company. unfortunately I didnt get to everything I wanted and I never finished a bunch of games I would have liked to. but if I held out to finish those games i'd never write this list so. Tho I also found that there were less games this year I turely loved and instead more games that I felt nothing towards. That being said, here are the 10 least bad games this year.

List items

  • Im not the biggest fan of playing episodic games or games that play like this one but, I decided to take the plundge on a friends advice and im glad i did. I loved my time with LIS, everthing about it i found to be pleasant and fun and exciting. by the end of everthing all i wanted was to spend more time in the game, which in my book is pretty impressive. The thing i always look for in games these past few years is somethin that makes me feel deeply, and nothing did that better than LiS:TC.

  • i didn't know about this game till the day I played it, but that really just let me be thourouly surprised by it. Gnosia does an excellent job of turing the now popular among us formula into a single player game. over playing it i grew to really enjoy learning about everyone and i really enjoyed figuring out the mysteries going on.

  • I had zero expectations for this game, i thought it looked bad and i was getting pretty tired of marvel as a whole, but after being convinced i gave it a go and i was pleasantly surprised. The gameplay is serviceable at best bt its not really the draw. the game does a fantastic job of telling a story about the gaurdians that i didnt realize i cared about, the writing is snappy and fun and its what pulled me through.

  • Maybe the most fun i've had playing any game this year. the combat is fast and fun and your always getting new toys to play with, always getting new areas to look at and new things to destroy. its also a stunning looking game.

  • its halo, but open. well, thats not quite true, i found halo 4 and 5 to be kinda tiresome by the end, but infinite was a nice breath of fresh air. I have my gripes with how they handle the narritive in places but by and large its fine.

  • Its a FPS rougelike, simple. I had a lot of fun with deathloop, i did find it start to drag in the back third and i did not enjoy how everything was wrapped up in the narritive, but it has a strong cast, great voice acting and fun, fluid combat, a big improvement on their older games.

  • As long as they keep making games like this ill keep playing them. they're like junk food games to me, simple, easy and fun, with good replayability. The story is dumb, more dumb than id hope for and it leaves me worried about a RE9, but i still played this a lot and fun playing it the whole time.

  • An interesting take on rougelike/lites, i love how this game looks and sounds and i enjoy the stratagy of building your run, i did grow tired of this game before the end and i feel like there isnt enough different things in the game. but i still enjoyed most of my time with loop hero/

  • the first psychonauts is the perfect game to watch someone play, it has excellent writing, but sucks to play on every level. fortunately Psychonauts 2 is everthing youd want in a sequel, its actually fun to play and the writing and humour are still there. this leaves me hopful for whatever comes next.

  • This is a really fun and interesting new way to tell a narritive, i enojyed pieceing everything together to learn how her lie has changed and what she become interested in. Boy john sucked, good thing we dumped him.
