Old rhythm games vs. New rhythm games

It is interesting to see the transition of how the rhythm game genre has evolved. I am a big fan of all of the old Japanese Konami made rhythm games. When the genre started to get popular in the states I was worried that the music would be corny and the games would become super easy. It is true that the rhythm games made for the states are not as difficult as the, well lets say, beatmania series of games have gotten, but I think they might be a little more enjoyable because of that :)
