@Lind_L_Taylor: My current roommate is from Portland and he took me on Google maps and showed me the very small patches of bad neighborhoods which he said aren't half as scummy as ours. Its a liberal town and very environmentally friendly. My best friend in NYC lived there for years and said its way different than Buffalo, that the number of educated and interesting people far outweigh the thugs and ...

  • @asian_pride: I'm not sure what to call myself, but surely I'm not a casual gamer. I aim to play and beat as many great games as I can get my hands on, and usually I'll beat a game a week on average, while chipping away at larger games like Fallout 3 over a period of time. I don't worry so much about getting achievement points as I do just enjoying ...

  • @Bruce: I'm a huge fan of the Conchords, and I threw a fit when I heard there isn't going to be a third season. Their humor is perhaps an acquired taste, more for people who know what its like to be in failed music projects and have a love for self deprecating wit. The gentleman above said they are ripping off "The Mighty Boosh" which is another show I love, ...

@ahoodedfigure: Yeah I here its a huge comic book town which is something I can sink my boots into. Dark Horse is stationed there as well. I know that all cities have their problems, but to be honest I would prefer new problems to the same old same old. The change of environment alone will be largely therapeutic. I love the landscape; Mount hood and St. Helens loom gorgeously in ...

@TheDoorman: I used to tell myself it was a great city, but that sentiment could not be sustained for the decade + that I've been living here. Have you been here lately? Its rubbish. Any good scene it used to have is all but gone.Added a minute later: Oh I see you are from here. Well don't worry I'll always be a Sabres fan, if that redeems me at all.

  • @AZ123: I have been the gamemaster (or DM if you like) to countless hours of various role playing games growing up, often with nerds as dedicated to the material as myself. Given the chance I would probably do it again, because despite the stigma, its a damned good time.

So here I am, about to turn 32 and about to experience the most drastic change in my life. I have been living in the sad, rust belt corpse of a city that is Buffalo NY for 13 years, and all I have to show for it is a few decent music projects and a resume consisting of a dozen dead end jobs in bill collections and sales. All of ...

  • Tales of Vesperia is honestly a really great game, even though I had enough after getting  82 hours into it and quit just before the final boss. I played Eternal Sonata to the end but that's because it was a much shorter game and looked great. I think that for the most part if you do not have a soft spot for the bizarre charm of Japanese anime and culture, ...

@FlamingHobo: Eh, if you can paint by numbers you can do this. Not that hard if you take it slow and follow everything closely. I would just pause it after each step, make sure its done right, play the next step, pause, ect.

  • @Ishoturface: Small Arms ain't that bad, its worth the price. I really recommend Bionic Commando: Rearmed and Braid. Those two games are must plays for hard core gamers.

@FlamingHobo: Watch the video tutorial I posted on another thread. Scroll down the page to find them. This guy explains everything perfectly, including the tools you'll need. Also, you may be amazed at all the dust caked on the motherboard and heat sinks, that always causes problems.

Prototype: Defying Physics Is Fun (X360)
"My name is Alex Mercer. They call me a monster, a terrorist, and a giant strain on military funding. I destroy city blocks and thousands of innocent lives but I'm really not that bad a guy. I love my sister, apparently, because I'll kill anyone to stop her safe house ...
