Since there hasn't been a game in two years i think the franchise could be dead! What do you think?

Yes, but it would be completely amazing if Naughty Dog picked up the rights from Activison and made remakes for the PS3.  
I think there was a CTR game in production that got cancelled by Activision recently recently, there is information on that at http://www.crashmania.net/ if you want to read up on it.

It was dead the moment Naughty Dog stopped making them. 

It's one of my favourite game franchises that I grew up with so I hope they start remaking the games and bring it back to its roots.

I didn't have a PS1 so I never played it, but my friend liked it. But yeah, it's been dead for years now. Can anyone tell me what was so good about them? I'm curious.

It's been dead for 10 years, duder; the only way to keep our friend from dying is with the help of Naughty Dog. 
 
Spyro has been dead for a long time, too; I wish Insomniac could come back to our little purple friend one last time :(

not true. crash team racing was great fun. the rest after that were all pretty "meh", though. "

If Crash isn't dead, he's on life support in a vegetative state.  In his silence he prays that some benevolent soul will end his dark misery and pull the plug.

 I liked Twinsanity. If they released something like that and not that jumping on things on controlling them nonsense, I'd buy it.There's something about those characters and the core gameplay that will always be fun.
