so then..... Battlefield 3.

It took me quite sometime to recover after what little of the campaign i played, i got up to the end of the thunder run mission and thought "that'll do me for today" before cooling my head in a sink of ice cubes after taking in the games mind melting beauty. To say that this game is nothing short of a work of art would be an understatement, not only does it look good, it sounds good. i mean seriously.... it's like the fucking news reels or something.

from what i got thus far from the campaign i was already looking forward to playing on multiplayer with baited breath, mind you i will say that the campaign needed a few levels that made you the pilot of a jet and a helicopter, but meh. i'm ok with what they did. But yeah, where was i? AH! mmmmmmmultiplayer. more or less the jammy center to an all ready great game, the first few games i played on multiplayer seemed a bit odd to me. i'm a little bit annoyed about the fact that we have a call of duty style scope wobble for the sniper rifle's (way to go dice for trying to be different), we didn't have a scope wobble in bad company 2..... right?.... i mean it, i'm staring at my television screen which my xbox is running bad company 2 on at the moment, i'm a sniper and i have my finger on the zoom button and there is not even a spasm going on with the scope. it's dead still. i liked that for bad company 2, means your playing as a sniper who isn't suffering from a bad case of..... what's the name of that disease Micheal J Fox has at the moment????....AH! Parkinson's disease like the sniper class from the call of duty game. having a dead still scope means your playing as a pro, someone who has nerves of steel. now it just feel like it's another god damn call of duty sniper class.

anyways, rant over.

to say in the least, i enjoyed myself more on the higher multiplayer settings of hardcore, well.... thats because i was actually getting one hit kills with a sniper rifle. i love the character progression, really does make you smile at the end of a game and seeing all those goodies you have unlocked scroll on the screen accompanied by a "SSSSCCCOOOONUUUUZZZZZZPACH" noise.

but yeah, from what i've played so far we have a heavy hitter to knock the hat off of call of duties flees bitten scalp. battlefield 3 feels like a game that was made with a lot of love and soul, you can clearly see the artistic attention to detail on.... EVERYTHING!!!

it's top quality action accompanied by some really intense vehicle action. i mean jets..... seriously...... mother fucking jets....... HOW CAN CALL OF DUTY EVEN CONTEND WITH THAT!?

but i'll more then likely play a lot more of this game and make it melt my brain even further, good thing i keep a bucket full of ice cubes by me.

anyways, keep on playing people and enjoy yourselves on this masterpiece of a game.

9/10..... hay, it may be awesome, but like i said. the campaign needed a "how the fuck do you fly jets and choppers?" mission.

I've been contemplating getting into Battlefield but like you so clearly stated for someone like myself who is more into the campaign-based stuff can this game hold it's salt? Maybe in the future after a price drop?

@Slither_Maggot: If you aren't really in it for the multiplayer, I suggest you go and pick up Bad Company 1 and Bad Company 2. Awesomely funny single player campaigns.

You're playing on the Xbox and you're a sniper. You're doing it wrong.

@Slither_Maggot: i reckon so, if the single player aspect is what excites you the most then give it a go. i don't have a clear idea on how long the campaign is of yet but i've been playing through the campaign a good 3 and a half hours at the moment, so it's meaty enough. i'd say the campaign length is just over 5 or maybe even 6 hours of game play, which is just about right for a game that is more driven by it's multiplayer then the campaign. just don't be too disheartened that you don't get to fly jets in the story.

I hate the call of dutyification of it. Still feels like Battlefield just with more Call of Duty.

The expression is 'with bated breath' with bated meaning held, as in, to abate. BF3's a good game. Carry on.

After playing for a while, Ive decided that this time, the campaign is crap. Despite its mind blowing graphics, even on consoles, the scripting and layout of it sucks. But, BF is about MP, and its MP is really flawless. As long as you get into a match with a good team, and work in tandem, the results are amazing.

I played over 90 hours of BC 2, and despite the changes, I like this one more. Its taking me more time to get the hang of the new gameplay, in fact, I still have not managed to get over the 1.0 KDR, or 1.0 in W/L rate. But Im getting into that soon. Sadly, most of my matches have been with players that thought that Rush was TDM, but its a matter of time, and once CoD cleans the field of all the casuals (no insult intended, its just that BF requires dedication and team work) the game will improve.

BTW, you can find me on PS3, I go by Dark-Zero1687 ;)

You can be an sniper on a console. This are my Sniper stats on the PS3 version of BC2 with no Aim Assist.

W. Name/ Time Used/ Kills/ Headshots/ Shots Fired/ Hits/ Accuracy.

M24 Sniper02h 16m 34s1078895232634.24 %
SV98 Snaiperskaya00h 19m 07s431043230.77 %
SVU Snaiperskaya Short00h 02m 17s1144613.64 %
GOL Sniper Magnum01h 23m 48s927061627444.48 %
VSS Snaiperskaya Special00h 00m 59s10141071.43 %
M95 Sniper08h 12m 15s4373523 0891 38744.90 %

So if you see, I have like 80% of Headshot Accuracy with an Sniper Rifle. Thus meaning that being an sniper is doable :p

@DragoonKain1687: I meant that playing as a sniper is doing it wrong. Snipers are useless assholes who sit in the back contributing nothing.

That depends. Ive come up with many snipers who are dicks. Snipers in Battlefield are more important than what most of the average player believes. For starters, we act as spotters. We mark most of the enemies on the map on the go. You know that this is important, specially on Rush missions when attacking buildings or defending them. We also are able to call in airstrikes to destroy mobile armor or defensive/attacking positions. Snipers are an active support class. True snipers in Battlefield normally are NOT campers as in most other games. That means that good snipers will be constantly on the move and will be taking position as, again spotters.

But, I totally know Im the exception to the rule. After so many hours of BF in my life, Ive seen that most snipers just camp until killed, and try to look for "clever" Spots to camp. So I totally understand why we all hate them. But, its not the class that is to be blamed, but the player. Believe me, having a proper sniper on your team can turn the tides of the match quickly.

Is the M24 the first one you get, the bolt action? God that thing was so sweet. Used to just tear dudes apart, greatest sniping experience I've ever had in a game. Never used another sniper.

Yup thats the one. Never had a better time in a game as an sniper as with this one. I used the M24 a lot, but ended up changing to the M95 later on. Longer range, and faster bullets. Still, once in a while I switch to the M24 just for the good old days xD
