  • Halo 4 kicked off Microsoft's Press Conference with a massive bang... and it all quickly went downhill from there. But hey! 343 lifted the lid on Master Chief's return with a Single Player reveal, a teaser for the new Live action series tie-in, and a ton of details about Spartan Ops and Multiplayer. Definitely one of my most anticipated titles of the year!

  • Ubisoft's wacky press conference pulled a sucker punch right at the end that absolutely no one watching was expecting: after an hour of insanity, bitchy hosts and apparently pre-recorded LAN tournaments, Yves Guillemot serenaded us with his wonderful accent about a brand new IP, about a world where information was your greatest weapon. And it proceeded to blow the minds of press and gamers alike.

  • Whilst I feel a bit uncomfortable watching the young Ms. Croft get constantly battered and bruised (not because she's a woman, mind, before we get into that controversy!), there's no denying that Crystal Dynamic's fresh look at the venerable first lady of Tomb Raiding looks great - which makes that wait for March 2013 all the more agonising.

  • Despite somewhat disappointing reviews for Revelations, ACIII has once again sparked interest in the world of stabbin' historical dudes in the face and neck. With a gorgeous new engine, fantastic animation and some interesting new gameplay setpieces (Connor's on a boat!), Ubisoft's breakout franchise of this generation looks to return to the dizzying heights of ACII's success.

  • Heavy Rain, whilst only kinda-sort of a game, was one of my favourite experiences in this console generation, and this time David Cage has brought out Sony's big guns: Ellen Page.

Supernatural Ellen Page starring in a gorgeous looking Heavy Rain-esque game? Sign me up!

  • Although slightly less Ellen Page-ier that it was previously (I really do wonder if that's because of Beyond: Two Souls, but it's really probably not), Joel and Ellie's post-apocalyptic adventures still pulled off a hell of a demo at Sony's presser. Intense combat, great graphics and visceral shotguns to the face mean Naughty Dog's latest is definitely one to watch.

  • I'm not really a big Splinter Cell fan, so I'm not getting up in arms about the 'actionification' of the latest title like fans are, but Blacklist certainly presented itself quite nicely at Microsoft's press conference with a slick new evolution of Conviction's Mark and Execute ability, and a genuinely nifty use of Kinect.

  • Although we know incredibly little about the game Lucas Arts has spent the past two years working on - hell, even the main character we were shown is apparently just a placeholder - Star Wars 1313 wowed audiences with its phenomenal looks, sparking a flurry of discussions about the next generation's capabilities. Sure, it could wind up being a second TFUII-level catastrophe of disappointment, but for now Star Wars 1313 is looking pretty neat.

  • The successor to the gorgeous Rayman Origins, Legends show us a little more of what the Wii U will be capable of, with some interesting co-operative gameplay that turned one player's game into a cross between helper and rhythm gaming. Hopefully this time Ubisoft will be more willing to give the game some ad time.

  • Sure, it's a Zombie game, but Ubisoft (a running theme for them this year) showcased some really interesting ideas, crafting an interesting integration of the Wii U's touchscreen controller, some nifty gameplay ideas - the idea of a zombie roguelike where you get a new character when your previous one is munched upon by the zombie hordes is a great one! - and of course, British Zombies, meant that Zombi U is one of the Wii U's current flagship games.
