Limited Editions and Me.

I don't know about you all, but there is something about getting the Limited Edition version of a game makes me feel like I got something really special. The funny part about it is 9 times out of 10 the joke is on me. I rarely ever watch the bonus dvds, the multiplayer skins are kind of neat, but honestly I am more of a single player kind of guy. So what is the draw? I actually really like the Halo cat helmet and GTA deposit boxes, they look great on my shelf. That being said the God of War "Ultimate" Edition has soured me. The box itself is pretty neat but all the extras? All DLC! Are you kidding me? $40 for a box. BOO YOU SONY, YEAH YOU!

I've started to rethink my spending habits with the beginning with night vision goggles edition of MW2. It made me feel bad for passing up on it, but honestly I would never use the thing. Bioshock 2 Box is on sale at Best Buy for like $75 now, that is a good deal, but the Halo Reach set is going to be $150! It looks really nice, and I know me, when push comes to shove I will most likely buy it. But seriously, that is equal to 2 new retail games and $30 of downloadable content.

Oh well.. am I the problem or are you a sucker for LE editions as well?

I just paid in full the SC2 LE.  The difference with me and you is that I will make back half of what I paid off with some idiot on WoW.  XD

I used to be really big on Collectors Editions but I have taken a realistic approach as of late. If I am not going to actually use the extras then I am not going to buy the CE.

I've only bought two collectors editions which were GTA4 and Guild Wars Nightfall. These are the most useless things I've ever bought... but i do like the "It's Only a Flesh Wound" pin in the Nightfall collectors!

Never bought any collector's edition, but my parents did get me the Halo 3 Legendary Edition with the helmet along with a 360 like four Christmases ago.

I've bought a couple but I think they are really starting to take the piss with some, I mean look at Red Dead Redemption - three pieces of DLC and a soundtrack CD for an extra £20? Pfft, you must be joking.

I got the Splinter Cell: Conviction CE, mainly cause i got it for the same price as the standard one.
Pity that nothing they sent worked, the usb was broken, the bonus suit was the wrong code but atleast I got a metal case.

the only limited edition game that i bought was modern warfare 2. i actually use it when it gets dark out and go searching for my cat. i have to get him in or he will get eaten by wild animals. it is pretty good to use as i can see a lot of things.

it is the only thing that i bought for limited edition. i think that special edition, limited edition items are useless because there is really nothing good to them.

Its not extra content, it's always the extravagant items that look good on the shelf that get me. Think bioshock 1 collectors edition or the fallout 3 lunchbox.

I can count on one hand the times I bought a limited edition game of any sort.  There was that Amazon-exclusive Survival Edition of Fallout 3, the Kane Edition of Command & Conquer 3, and, uh...an import...the DX Pack edition of a Lucky Star game...yeah...
