Podcasts

It was funny. Less than a year and a half ago, I didn't even know what a podcast was until one of the managers at the place where I worked mentioned that he was filling up his iPod with podcasts that he listens to in the car on his way to work.

After that, I first saw EpicBattleCry and Invisible Walls on Gametrailers.com and started watching them before I even found out that they were podcasts. I still follow EBC now, but I don't really follow IW anymore. I only got into the Giant Bombcast MAYBE a year ago, and I'm somewhat upset with myself that I didn't get into them earlier. Now I look forward to every Tuesday as that's when I get my Jeff/Ryan/Brad/Vinnie fix.

Since SC2 came out, I've been looking to consume any media even remotely related to the game: replays, VoDs, people streaming their game on TeamLiquid.net, the GB Community Tournament, and so on. Eventually I found the "State of the Game" podcast which is done by some of the top players from BW and SC2, and it's a hoot to listen to. I may even enjoy it more than the Bombcast surprisingly. I also just subscribed to "The Creep" which is a more casual SC2 podcast, but all of this is just to talk about the fact that because of my love of the game, I wanted to do something for the community as well.

I thought about doing videos on Youtube, but that area seems over saturated with already popular figures like Day[9], PsyStarcraft, Husky, HDStarcraft, Artosis, etc. I also considered streaming, but my bandwidth would not allow that. So I thought, how about doing an SC2 podcast?! I didn't come up with the idea as a way to get e-famous or anything like that, I just honestly thought it would be a blast to get together with some like-minded individuals and spit game about something we all know and love. The first recording went better than I could've expected, and I owe a lot to Harris, Domorin, ThatFrood and Moztacular for their support and participation in my crazy-ass dream.

Here's hoping that we can continue to put out a quality product that people will enjoy (and perhaps even learn a thing or two from) for quite some time. Cheers! :3
