May not hold your attention for long, but it's still fun.
Rag Doll Kung Fu: Fist of Plastic is a remake of sorts of the PC Rag Doll Kung Fu. I’m almost sure you could play the original game online. This one on the other hand can only be played locally. One can only hope the developers will bring online multiplayer as a patch in the near future. Anyway, the game has four modes; deathmatch, king of the hill, capture the fish, and dodge ball. All but capture the fish can be assigned three AI opponents in the case you don’t want to wait for real people to come and play. I have no idea why capture the fish is the exception to this.
Aside from multiplayer, RDKF:FoP has a tutorial mode and a single-player component in the form of challenges. Play the tutorial first to get used to the controllers. The challenges range from survivor to juggling an opponent in the air for as long as you can. As you complete each challenge you unlock costumes and body parts to create your own rag doll fighter. You also unlock stuff by attempting certain moves during a match (of which some are also related to the trophies for the game). Some of these moves will take time to get used to as they require sixaxis gestures. For instance, meditation (which converts chi into health) is done by turning your controller upside down. Energy balls are charged by jolting (shaking) your controller. They do feel gimmicky but they are fun to pull off nonetheless. Again, play the tutorial to get used to these implementation of sixaxis gestures.
All in all, the game is amusing. It has a charm similar to the original. Its replayability will be found in attempting to get gold ranking on all the challenges and, for those of you who whore trophies, getting all the trophies. The multiplayer portion will get old unless you have friends over constantly to play it with them. The game could’ve benefited from online support and voice chat. Sadly, those two are missing. Basically, buy it if you have $10 to spare.
