Overview
The Rock Band Metal Track Pack was announced on August 13, 2009, and released in North America on October 13, 2009. The track pack is available for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii, and Playstation 2 consoles, with an initial retail price of $29.99.
Like previous Rock Band Track Packs, the metal edition is a standalone game whose songs can be imported into Rock Band and Rock Band 2 via an included download code. While most of the pack's songs were already available via the Rock Band music store, six tracks were exclusives not available as DLC for the Rock Band platform. The exclusive tracks will eventually become DLC at a future point after the track pack is released.
