    SCEE Studio Liverpool

    Company »

Sony's Studio Liverpool was a British game developer and publisher born from the defunct 8-bit company Imagine Software. Originally known as Psygnosis, it became part of Sony in 1993, and was renamed Sony Studio Liverpool in 2001. The studio was closed in August 2012.

    Studio Liverpool still alive?

The official WipEout twitter just tweeted:

    "WE. ARE. ALIVE."

According to people at NeoGAF, there were were talks within Sony about how to avoid the shutdown, and then the Liverpool city council stepped in offered to help out, so it would appear things worked themselves out before the shutdown actually happened.

It's not like Sony murdered all the employees when they closed down the studio.

I always hate that about studio closing stories; there's never any 'studio opening' or 'former employees finding other jobs' stories. If you went by video game news, every person that has ever been employed in this industry has been fired or laid off, and the entire industry is unemployed. There's no one making games, because they all got fired and never worked again. All that talent just disappears.

Good news is not interesting news, according to the news.

...now "anonymous sources" are suggesting its the just the WipEout community manager being an asshole / idiot... While others are saying the team is intact, just moved to SCEE London.
