    The Société Européenne de Recherche Nucléaire (SERN) is a fictional Europe-based physics research group in the anime series, Steins Gates. They operate a complex of particle colliders including the famous Large Hadron Collider.

    Secretly they researched on time travel. They subjected humans to experimentation by sending them to the past through kerr black holes generated by the Large Hadron Collider. The humans sent back to time are turned into green "jelly men" in the process.

    The group is the main antagonist of Steins Gate and hires the Rounders to compromise Rintarou Okabe''s gang to retrieve information on their research on time travel even if it results to casualties.
