    Overview

    Shadowmere is a unique horse found in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It is completely black, with glowing red eyes. In Oblivion, Shadowmere is completely unkillable. In Skyrim, Shadowmere has much more health than other mounts, regenerates health very quickly, and will respawn several days after being killed. It is not entirely clear if the same Shadowmere appears in both games or if they are different horse with the same name, though it is known that it is female in Oblivion (as Lucien refers to it as "she" and "her").

    Shadowmere is aligned to The Dark Brotherhood, and will cross paths with the player during that faction's quests. In Skyrim, he spawns from a disgusting black pool of liquid.
