Can't understand that the new Horizon didn't fix the horrible weapon/item management system.

A few notes on Lost Ark:

The achievements are heavily bugged. Of the 29 I have 5 of them are things I have not done. I had even more I obviously had not done, so they must have done a pass removing them somehow. So I can easily see some people not getting achievements as well.

The drop to "Mixed" on Steam is mostly due to the server issues, especially in Europe. I bought the cheapest Founders Pack to play it three days early, and even then the servers where classified as "busy". The day it was supposed to come out for everyone something went wrong, so it was several hours delayed. And it has only gotten worse from there. Queues of several thousand people trying to get in, resulting in hours of waiting. If you even get put in a queue. The past days the game just gave an error message when trying to play in the evening. Right now there are 19 European servers, so I think they have added some. But they have said they have to add an entire new region to alleviate the crush of people. Which will take a while, and anyone who wants to move to a new server have to start over again.

The game is fun, but it is less a Diablo and more of an MMO. It's one of those games that "starts when you reach level 50". I'm not there yet, as I have barely gotten into the game this week. Fun enough to play waiting for Elden Ring, but I'll probably never see much of the true end-game content. The chat in-game is of course rife with misogyny, homophobia, transphobia and the works. The server I am on also have a "language war" every 15 minutes. Some people claim it is a german server so they should only speak german, some people get angry at the "spam" (ie. german) and gets really vocal about only wanting to see english. It is so stupid, and makes me glad I play even MMOs solo.

So what I wanted to get to was; don't take the "mixed" reviews as gospel, the game itself is fun if you like MMO-style games with Diablo-style combat. If you get to play it.

I remember back in the Team Fortress 2 prime days a Demoman player named Mr. Boo. He used to play on the Fatgamer servers back when they existed and were very popular. He was one of the best Demoman players I've ever seen and I've seen plenty of good ones, both pro and casual. Whatever team he joined was almost of a guarantee win. And sometimes his wife played as Mrs. Boo and was his pocket medic. It would be funny if this Mr. Boo was the same person behind this game that Jeff G believes is terrible.

I think an FOV slider should be mandatory in games, it's an accessibility option for many people just like subtitles, people with motion sickness find that zooming out the camera helps, and while i don't suffer motion sickness i find a too zoomed in perspective really uncomfortable, like i'm a horse wearing blinders.

I play all games on PC now, but back when i was playing all the various fps's on 360 i decided i wanted to replay Prey, which is one of the few shooters of the era that was developed on PC and ported to console and features a PC FOV, and that's when i realised that a pulled out FOV feels way better and that the "more narrow FOV because it's on a TV" excuse is bullshit, it's better in any situation and is only done so they don't have to optimise performance, it's convenient and lead to LOADS of PC ports that lack an FOV slider.

This is just a Matt Rorie appreciation comment. I'm only a minute and 17 seconds into the show but I had to pause and pay my respects.

Talking about Kirby copying Mario Odyssey: but it's absolutely the other way around. Kirby was sucking up dudes to take their powers long before Mario ever threw a hat at them. The hat is basically a slightly different style of Kirby powers. Mouthful Mode is an extension of Kirby's already existing powers.

Nice to hear some more positive things about Cyberpunk 2077. (Danny had some last year, I remember.) Got tired of all the crapping on it. I'm still looking forward to trying that game out some day... when I can get a new video card, which will be in 5 years at this rate.

So here's the dumb weird thing about the Lost Ark prolouge:

When Lost Ark first released in Korea in 2019, you would start at level 1, and complete a prologue unique to your class. This prologue was single player only, so you couldn't play with friends for the duration, and it took multiple hours to complete it. By the end of the prologue, you would be level 10, and that's when you choose your advance class.

At some point I guess they decided it's a lot of work or whatever to keep making prologues for the new classes or something because they changed the individual prologues to the jpeg art show with voiceover that is in the game now, and replaced it with the current prologue where everyone gets the same story, and starts at level 10.

Rorie calling cyberpunk one of his favourite games feels like he lost a bet.

y'know i know jeff g plays it up as doubling and tripling down on his hatred of majora's mask at this point, but it really does irritate me that he just like, doesn't even let anyone get to say anything positive about it and shuts them down. majora's mask did delightful things that made me invested in so much more of the detail in the world, and ocarina of time aged way more poorly to my mind. that game also carried what is for me my favourite tone in videogames of that era, and all of the music, artstyle, environment, and sound supported the whole of finding your hope and joy in the clutches of a miserable situation.

Klonoa sounds like an STD

The mix of despair, unease, wonder, and utter weirdness that Majora's Mask has makes it perhaps the most memorable game I've ever played. It's just unmistakable I can't think of any other game that has cemented itself in my mind as much as it has.

I was listening to that truebill ad, and normally it washes over me, but this time i listened to it.

I get that it's probably super useful to use once if you have a large family all piling up their subscriptions on one account, but the idea that you need to use a service to get rid of service fees you have accumulated throughout the years sounds a bit rediculous to me. The idea that you can lose track of your moneystreams and need to use a service to sort it out for you, in a world where every mainstream bank or creditprovider has plenty of ways to regularly be able to check what happens to your money. Surely that can't take more than an hour out of someone's day to check the balance, and cancel all the subscription fees that you no longer need.

But hey, i can sort of understand that people value 1 hour more than spending 5$ or 10$ to just have it be over with. What's more fascinating to me is that this company is able to sustain itself. It seems to be fairly well known and seems to have a reasonably big advertising budget. With most services, it's something that it's customers want to stick with for a longer time, but once something is cancelled using Truebill.. you're done! You should no longer be their customer at that point. So even if there's a market for this, with every customer served they are immediatly shrinking their own market.

Maybe i don't understand this all.
