Giant Bombcast 756: Emulation Hose

for coverage of PSVR 2 I would really like if someone that hasten used it that often try it. VRodeo was Gerstmann most of the time and he was never impressed and also he did not get sick, even in Drive Club etc. I would love to know how people react that aren't that used to it.

I had the PSVR and got rid of it because I got sick all the time, especially when using a controller to move I never got used to that and Jeff didnt even care at all when doing that. I know he's not here anymore but there are enough people that used VR 100s of times, maybe when it comes out and you do a V Rodeo let someone use it that's pretty new in the VR Space.

Edit: I would be VERY surprised if PSVR 2 was less than 500 bucks btw.

@deepressed: Yeah, I don't know how much the staff will be able to "share" PSVR2 with people being remote, but even if Jan/Tamoor/Lucy could all take a crack at it in the SF office occasionally, I'm with you on getting more varied VR impressions.

The previous VR coverage on the site did feel a little overly Gerstmann-centric, and like you said, he had a pretty specific constitution and mindset towards VR.

That was one of the most insightful news segments I've heard on the bombcast. Such a fantastic, thoughtful discussion!

@hornet: I’m at the point where I don’t imagine there’s ever actual intentional thought to the English names of JRPGs. I’ve just been burned too many times by word salad titles that are named that way because some game director just liked the sounds of a handful of English words that make no sense together.

Grubb saying that "PlayStation gamers" don't exist was a weird statement. I am one of them. And I wouldn't call myself a fangirl. I just have no interest in buying multiple systems and having games spread across different accounts. I got into the PS digital ecosystem when I bought a PS3, so I just continued with Vita, PS4, and PS5.

If a game I'm interested in isn't on PS, I'm not going to buy a different box to play it. I just ignore its existence. If it comes to PS later, great! If not, I shrug and try to forget about it.

The only way you could get me out of PS's ecosystem is if PS went out of business.

Imran was the MVP of this Bombcast, he's been on GB a few times before and always contributes so wonderfully - well spoken and informed. It's definitely a talent to keep conversations like these moving at the right pace and interesting. I hope him and all his former coworkers land on their feet very soon.

There was no industry standard for VR when PSVR was being made since it was among the first group of VR headsets to come out.
