just started listening to 8-4 yesterday gone through the last 3 ...really great podcast loving them ....esp the fighting game scene stuff.

@fitzgerald: Having Tomb Raider nom'd as GOTY makes it impossible for me to hate it completely.

I'd read/watch "The life and times of Hideki Kamiya".

@fitzgerald: Seriously, all they really shat on was Joel McHale, when he was the least of the show's problems.

Anyway, looking forward to what 8-4 has to say on it.

@fitzgerald: i think the bombcast guys come to the VGX with a much more cynical and pragmatical approach. they know what it is, what it's meant to be, what it can be. it's not for them, it's not for the fans, it's mass audience, and they don't pay too much attention to it.

Hard-hitting critique and analysis of the VGX's is not something I want the Bombcast to worry about, they don't really care, so why should they bother getting all fussed up about it.

Wonderful 101 is not a whole lot like Devil May Cry or Bayonetta, Mark and JJ.

Kingdom hearts is probably the most nonsensical of all of the squeenix narratives.. Although to be perfectly honest.. there is one thread of the storyline that is a bit more interesting, and that is the Terra, Aqua and Ventus story, and it runs through the whole narrative (and apparently will pick up on the 3rd game, since Sora appears to be wielding Master Eraqus' keyblade in the trailer). It's still nonsensical mainly because of the horrible sensibility clash between Square vs Disney.

That said, I think that the nonsensical director in Square is Nomura. And not even always. However, although most other final fantasies are angsty and a bit too whimsical, the only one that REALLY makes NO sense at all is FF13, and that has stretched for WAYY too long.

About VGX well what a joke... the show was a drag except for no man's sky.
As you guys say, I really think people are getting a bit over their heads with the hype for it, I personally suppose it will be closer to Minecraft than Destiny.. but I suppose there wasn't anything else to get hyped about.

I think that the Best game/ best studio, happens simply because they want to rub everyone's belly.

Anyone know what the Monster Hunter podcast they talked about with the two people learning how to play it? I've been tipping my toe into 3 Ultimate on the Wii-U and would love to listen to it.

It's been a while since then, but I'm pretty sure it was now on-hiatus anime FGC player and self-proclaimed "Best competitive Catherine player in the world" Dacidbro who started that chant.

I ran out of things to do and just listed to the first episode from back in 2010 loved it. Garnet Lee is on it. I will probably work my way to the current episodes now. I hoped over to this after I was listing to the Geekbox.
