ALBUMMER! 33: Billy Joel's Attila

This week on Albummer! the gang is talking about Atilla, Long Island royalty Billy Joel's long-lost two-member metal project from when he was only 20 years old. It kicks ass, but you know what doesn't? Drinking and driving. Stay safe, mustaches.

The crew behind Two Minutes to Late Night are here to re-review some of the most critically reviled albums out there!

Hey, that's Gwarsenio Hall. I recognize him because he looks like someone melted a zebra in the microwave.

I’m legitimately surprised at how much I enjoyed this album. Give me the alternate timeline in which Billy Joel achieved stardom through this band instead.

EDIT: I know you're probably not actually soliciting any suggestions, but I just want to make people aware of Peter Scott's Conception, which is a concept album about using prayer to heal infertility. I particularly recommend listening to "Be Healed" and "Trying to Conceive".

I hope I'm a really large number in the spreadsheet. Probably not since I've made requests on Twitter before, but at least I got replies!

I always thought the somber tone of piano man was because he knew he was a "loser" like everyone else, but it's really fucking funny to think that he's insulting his peers out of ignorance.

Can't wait for 2 Minutes presents Piano Man Butt, a biopic based on Billy Joel's life, and butt.

Jordan's audio is weird. Did he forget to switch mic inputs?

Rocket Man showed the Elton John was living a wild life, they just did it through like...interpretive dance. I agree though, woulda been better if we just had some hardcore gay sex, better movie.

I will always use this line to explain it; Prog is the JRPG of music.

I did not know this album existed and here I thought I was a fan of Billy Joel. I will be listening to this tonight.

I really keep meaning to rewatch Justified since they announced it was coming back. The only problem is that I remember the Michael Rapaport season being an absolute chore to get through. Otherwise an exceptionally fun pulpy show.

Didn't Billy Joel just rip off all of his popular songs and that's why he's able to sound so diverse? I thought that was a thing.

Coming in like a week late to say that there are some great two-piece metal bands! Year of the Cobra are just a drummer and a bassist/vocalist and they're brilliant.

Billy Joel freaking out in Moscow in '87 is one of my favorite on-stage artist meltdown things ever. Also Jeremy's parents' Billy Joel story is incredible.

Holy fucking shit lol. I guess now we know what Trent Reznor watched right before Woodstock '94

Great ending, Jordan lost out
