Oh boy. For reference, Nathan from Tumwater, WA has been a long-time, semi-frequent emailer and caller to various Giant Bomb podcasts and features, almost always with the most benign, mundane and low-level questions that are usually "Would you rather be X or Y for the rest of your life" or "If you were suddenly _____, what would you do?"

I feel like posting someone else's insta pics to wikifeet is sullying the good name of Nathan, but I'm not him, so what can I say.

Ha, surprised that people even heard of this album. Guilty pleasure for me. Definitely a dark weird era between the original Misfits and the 96 reboot.

Kind of like the original take on Abominable Dr Phibes that was on the full version of this that didn't make it on the CD.

To add to @seveword 's explanation above, at some point people began calling into the voicemail Giant Bomb uses* claiming they were also Nathan from Tumwater, Washington. So it's very likely one of the many degenerates who calls in / listens to the Voice Mail Dump Truck.

Also, I liked this album and would listen to it again.

Growing up the in the south, a huge portion of the music scene there were all kids that played in church bands - mostly since it was one of the few ways to perform in small towns as a kid.

I did not expect the heel (heh) turn from Nathan from Tumwater, WA in this episode, but here we are.

I haven’t thought about Be Your Own Pet in at least 15 years. I really loved their first album and they were a very fun and chaotic live band.

When I was living in Chesapeake VA during the beginning of a hurricane there was a similar deal with a snapping turtle. I tried to go out and save it, but I wussed out, and then my little sister who was staying with me at the time just picked that bad boy up without hesitation and hauled him to the lawn nearby. That girl has no fear!

I think the discussion of the bad album is the least important part of this show. If this was just a podcast with them bantering and talking about music from time to time it would be A+.

That being said i give the show with its current conceit an A+.

If you DO decide to do a scientology album, you should do "Mission Earth" by Edgar Winter. Its literally an adaptation of the book by Hubbard of the same name, but Hubbard left detailed instructions on specifically how he wanted the album to be made and sound. So its like "Space Jazz" except with Edgar Winter fronting it, its so hilarious.

It really is hilarious that Doyle was like "woah woah darker and darker music and lyrical content is too much man, sure, jacking off dead JFK, fine, cutting the heads off little girls? fine! killing babies? Fine!" and thats not even getting into the 2nd couplet of Last Caress.

Also Micheal Graves is a piece of shit, hes been on Infowars in the current era. He Really Sucks.

Norma Jean caught me off guard, too. I didn't get into them until Meridional and Wrongdoers, and I don't think they were as obvious that late in their career. More importantly however, fuck Norma Jean.
